Just picked up another Nolan helmet even though I did not need one. The N-103 was fine or so I thought. Went to my local shop looking for something completely different when my eye caught the new Nolan's on the shelf. I thought, "what the heck", I'll try it. The first thing I noticed was a lot more room in the chin bar area. The fit and finish was 1st class. Many improvements in terms of visibility, weight, ventilation, shaded shield operation, neck curtain, and integration of the new n-com B4. To my surprise they had the N-com B4 in stock. One thing led to another and 700.00 later, I brought it home. Installation of the N-com B4 took about 6 mins. Went on a ride to test it out. Much less noise than the N-103. Pairing was dirt easy and everything worked. Sound quality is great considering the size of the headset. The B4 offers FM radio reception and can be programmed with software downloaded from Nolan. The helmet has a mini-usb connection. The firmware may also be upgraded. The helmet was 340.00 and so was the N-com B4. The B4 also pairs up to four helmets and features bike to bike communication. The really great news is that it's backwards compatible with older N-com systems. They will talk to each other!!. So, while my N-103 lost it's role as a starting pitcher, it be there in a relief role when needed. More info may be found at www.webbikeworld.com and at www.revzilla.com

Thanks for the prelim! I'm looking at the N104 and Shoei Neotec. The Neotec is about the same price as the loaded N104, so I'll need to check both out REAL good before dropping that much cash on 2 helmets.

I've just bought a Shoei Neote helmet with its built in sun visor & anti fog screen cost ?469 in UK. The noise reduction is significant compared to the Shoei Multitec (my previous lid) and the lining is quite significant and face hugging. I hope it gives some soon ! The lining below the chin reduces noise also. The helmet is bigger though and seems heavier wont fit inside my Honda topbox but will in the side panniers, just. So those with a small pannier/topbox beware !
I'm pleased with mine so far.

The N-com "should" pair with any bluetooth compliant device. Operative word....."should" I've only paired with HTC Smartphone and Garmin Zumo 665

Thanks for the positive review. This Nolan set-up has been on my mind lately, since my eight year old Shoei is ready to be retired. I can see my ship on the horizon, and it's comin' in! Just need to find a retailer within reasonable proximity; never buy a helmet without first having a fit!!!

I just got my new N104 today. In a word, fantastic! I was in an N102 before, and found the 104 to be VASTLY quieter. Though beware of the sizing. The N102 I used was an XL, but had to get a 3XL in the 104 to get in it. No one has ever called me a pinhead lol.

I did not get the Bluetooth (yet)

The N-com B4 is a real step up from previous version in terms of feel. The buttons are larger and much easier to operate. Actually, I think the battery life is about the same. +/_ 8hrs. The speakers are about the same quality as the N-com, which are pretty decent for speakers of that size.

Like all bluetooth systems for motorcycles, the Nolan is proprietary and will only communicate with Nolan systems. This is the same across the industry.

I just purchased the same setup. I have a Zumo 550, which does not send out a stereo signal. The music is terrible. Does anyone know of a compatible bluetooth Ad2P transmitter? I had the chatterbox one that should have been compatible but I could not get it to work.

I have a BIG problem with fogging. More so than my n 103. Also the windscreen vibrates like crazy to the point of being unusable partially opened. It is very quiet though. I use Ed Sets in the helmet and listen to music with my iPhone with a boost A roo. Works well for me..

Take a look at the Sena SM10. I think this is intended to connect several Bluetooth devices.

I have 104 with B4 for about 3 months and love it! Scorpio EXO1100 and N103 are resting on the shelf now. What's great, that I get warnings from escort radar detector and music for iPhone at the same time. What I liked on scala though, was voice command on answering phone. But B4 sound quality is much better. +1 on visibility and quietness vs. Nolan 103. BTW, when on the phone, person on the other end doesn't even know that I'm on the road - good ambient notice canceling.

***UPDATE***
My Nolan B-4 Module failed while doing a long road trip. It would not turn on (I think the exceptionally heavy rain somehow got into the unit and caused the failure, but I'm just guessing). I sent the unit back to CIMA (Nolan NA Rep). They repaired the unit for free and returned it all within a week. Outstanding customer service.

Do you use ear plug? If you don't give them a try you will amazed at how much the sound quality of the in helmet speakers improves.
