I just bought a Tour Master Intake Jacket today. Rode home with it on from the dealership from where I got it (70 miles). I think it's going to be just what I was after!

It has CE approved armor in the elbows and shoulders, as well as a back protector. It has two liners, one waterproof/windproof and the other insulated for cold weather. Both are removable, which is how I rode with the jacket today. The air flowed right through the mesh and felt great!

The price was $129.99 which was in the neighborhood of what I was wanting to spend. I am a loyal Tour Master customer and have been very satisfied with all their products that I have purchased. :)

I have the same jacket and feel the same way. I live in Central Florida, so the mesh helps out a lot this time of year!

Sizing question

Elmo,
Thanks for posting about this jacket. I've been looking into a mesh jacket and really like what this one has to offer. I've never owned any Tour Master gear and was wondering if their sizes run true. I wear a large First Gear Trekker and a large Joe Rocket 88 that both fit me just fine. Do you think TM's sizes run true and can you compare them to the FG and JR sizes?

TIA

The Intake jacket is listed with 600 Denier. The GX Air w/ leather has 'Armor-Link 3'. Not familiar with Armor-Link, but 600 Denier is pretty decent protection. Even with the leather placement on the GX Air, it would seem that the Intake offers better overall protection. They also make another warm weather jacket called the Flex Convertible, which also includes 600 Denier. Is there really a difference or is it 6 of one, half dozen of another? Thoughts?

[EDIT] Also, with the GX Air having leather, it is still machine washable or does it have to be professionally cleaned?

I received the TM GX jacket w/leather and TM mesh pants the evening before returning to Iraq. Got in a 60 mile test ride :03biker: the next day before going to the airport at 90 degree temps, high humidity, full sun at noon to 2:00, and slow speeds (30-70 with some STops), with the wife  on behind...jacket and pants breathed and felt great...no sweat.:D :D :D

I got the jacket in tall large...tall is really tall. About 3/4 inch shorter would be perfect for me...but I'm gonna keep it because I'm afraid the regular would 1-2 inches short. Also note the tall is only available in black. Remember this jacket is cut large...so if you are near a size break, get the smaller size for correct fit.

One surprise with the pants, which I though pecular, is there is no zipper to attach to the jacket. Not a great concern for me since the pants have armor rising well up the small of my back with plenty of overlap with the jacket.

I got a great deal and good service for the TM jacket and pants plus matching Shoei ZR-1000 helmets from Premier Cycle in Phoenix.:) :)

Sorry for the late response... I've been away for a few days.

I don't know if I can answer your question about the sizing, but I can share this... I found that with most jackets I tried on, they were fairly snug with the liners in, and somewhat loose fitting with them out.

Since I felt I would be riding with the liners out most of the time, I went in that direction. Clear as mud, right?

PS After a great trip to Pamama City Beach, I still love the jacket! :D

Thanks for the info. I've already ordered from New Enough (yup, ST donation made  ) and went the same direction on fit. I bought it mostly for summer riding and and wanted a fug snit so that the armor would have a better chance of staying in place if I ever tested it  It's good to hear you love it, can't wait to get mine.
