I installed my heated grips.

I found what I thought was a great spot to mount the Heat Troller, while I had the fairing off.

Right in front of the left fairing pocket.

Looked real good, until I installed the left fairing and the Pocket lid wouldn't close over it.

I could cut a notch in the lid but I think I will tear it down again and find another location.

I already have a controller on the left and right where the fairing meets the tank.

Any other good spots?

I have a Heatroller for my heated jacket liner installed so the knob and LED come up through the triangular piece of plastic that runs along the top right side of the fuel tank, next to the fairing pocket. (You could use the other piece on the left side, too.) A couple holes carefully drilled through that piece of plastic and I fitted the controller shaft and the LED up through. I put a little blue loctite on the threads before snugging up the nut. 3 years and still works great. You should be able to access the spot easily by raising the tank.

I'm using both of those spots, as I have a dual heat-troller.

I'm looking for another spot.

I mounted mine in the left speaker grill. Perhaps not the safest spot, but think I don't adjust my heat that often and it was one of the few pieces of real estate left.

What are you guys tapping on for power? looking to run a set of fog lights and heated grips, but would like to run it through the ignition so it kills the power when the ignition is off. gary

Hi and welcome to the site. Just do a search for "quartet harness (http://www.st-owners.com/forums/search.php?searchid=444526)" on this site and lots of info on how to install about any accessory will come up.

That's the downside to how tight everything fits ....you think you find a good spot for something and the dang tupperware won't go back on!

He's right, the Quartet Harness and some connectors from electricalconnection.com will fix you up.

Most higher amperage connections require a direct to the battery (fused)connection.

You can trigger a relay from the Quartet Harness and get your main power from the battery.

Some of us use the Blue Sea Power Block, or a similar fuse block for all of our additions. Heatroller, however, says to power their controller straight from the battery.:04biker:
