This past saturday was "Suzuki Demo Day" around town .... Went to my local Honda-Kawy-Suzy dealer and took a test ride on a V-Twin 2006 1000 V-Strom ... very interesting ride! Goes like hell! (especially 3rd!) Found the bars & grips to be a bit "buzzy" and a lot of effort needed to hold the throttle open ... the hand got quite tingly! Seat was a bit on the hard side too ... but BOY, does the bike ever go! Made for an interesting comparison between it and the ST! It really told me how "refined" the ST's ride really is! It was still fun to drive though! ;)

The V-Twins have considerable vibration, although I don't feel as much on my V-Strom 650, but then again I don't have the surge of power in 3rd like the 1000 does....
I pick up my Wee early next week... weighted bar ends and some grip puppies are reported to dampen the bar vibes considerably.

Yeah I owned an 02 (first Year) It was a kick in the pants a very good do it all bike. Not really great at anything but more then adequate for most anything.
