Well today I broke down (actually broke my wife down:D ) and ordered some Motoport Air Mesh jacket and pants. I got the grey with black jacket and the black pants. They actually are going to have some jackets in stock by the end of the week, if you can fit into a standard size and with limited colors (all black, grey/black, black/yellow). So they said they should ship my jacket early next week! The pants could take up to 9 weeks,:( less if they get a set in my size (not holding my breath). Review to follow:bannana

I don't think you will be let down. I am still saving for the one piece Motoport suit. They seem to have it together with the Kevlar, light and still stronger than leather, with a 10 year warranty and machine washable.
Congratulations! Think of the pain I went through to get Chris to let me order 2 tops and bottoms with waterproof liners! :-)
I like the silver bodied jacket too: Chris has it with black and mine is with blue...
The silver does show dirt after a while... I had to wash it after about a year and it is due again...

I have a pair of Kevlar mesh pants and thing to be cautious about is them rubbing against the fairing. I have a 34" inseam and while my legs don't hit the fairing, but I noticed that when coming to stop and putting my feet down there is some rubbing against the fairing
The problem with the mesh pants is that the mesh is fairly stiff (unlike nylon mesh which is usually soft) and will definitely mar the finish if you're not carefull (I had a set of fairing extenders that I hadn't used, but I've since installed only because of the pants)

Don't be surprised when your Motoport gear arrives and it says Cycleport on the labels :D

I should have my Ultra II Air Mesh later this month :D I got the double liner so I can make this an all season jacket ;)
Saving pennies for the pants now :p:

I agree and am planning to get Chris a set of fairing extenders too...

Knock on wood. I have not had an issue with my 34" inseam and the mesh pants rubbing anything. FWIW I prefer the middle seat position.

Got my jacket today! I haven't had a chance to try it out yet:( , been busy unpacking garage. The material seemed thick/bulky. When I talked to Wayne on the phone he told me I would need a large jacket, but they sent me a XL! It seemed to fit reasonably ok, just a tad bit large in the arms and the waist can be taken up by the adjustments. I also noticed it was made in China. I kinda thought that they were made locally by what the website said (ie Made "In House"). Is everyone else's made in China? More updates later.

I have the Ultra II Kevlar jacket and the tag says "Made by Cycleport in the USA" (had to check after reading your post). Maybe the Air Mesh is a mass produced jacket where the Kevlar ones are custom made???? I would ask Wayne what gives though because like you I was under the impression that all the Cycleport/Motoport products were 'custom' made

Well if you didn't buy so many jackets......................;)
You could get a second job to support the farkle and clothes habit. I've thought of this but then I wouldn't have time to ride. Ohhhhhh the horror LOL
Wheres that support group. Maybe a 12 step program.
I'm way past the 12th farkle :)
Ok no more farkles for 12 days than at least but that doesn't start till the UPS man get here this week.

Because of the 10-12 week delivery cycle, Cycleport is having some jackets in some sizes and color combos made overseas and imported to speed things up. This is a VERY recent thing. Like the last month or so.

This I can understand however, (BIG COMMA) I am having a hard time swallowing paying top dollar for something made in China when the American made version is the same price.:(
With the liner you are talking almost $560 for a jacket made in China.
So am I correct in assuming that everyone else's is made in USA? And I just got the new batch?
Thanks, Paul

Pants finally showed up this week! Just about 3 and 1/2 months. Seems about par with what he said it would be. This thing has padding everywhere! Knees, thighs, and I had the hip padding added. However the hip padding is not the same as the other armor. It seems to be half of the regular armor without the plastic sheet. It fits extremely well, like it was made for me:D !
