Just put ~ 500 miles on these pants and they are litererally a PIA!
I had the liner out on these mesh pants hoping they would be at least as cool as jeans - and they are.
The problem is that there is a seam exactly where you don't want one. You know that seam in undrwear where your buttocks meets the back of your thigh - the reason you wear seamless riding underwear. Yep - right there. After ~ 100 miles on a stock seat (2005) that seam feels like you are sitting on the edge of a ruler. :(
My advice - don't buy these pants.
Having said that - does anyone recommend a comfortable mesh pant?

Hmm, my backside must not be as sensitive as yours. I have worn my pair on a couple of 200 mile trips and never noticed the issue. Could be my RIck Mayer seat or just my buns ain't as particular as yours. After the last 2 weeks in June I'll give a 7k review, I'm planning on wearing them extensively on my out west trip.

I've worn my HT Air's on several long trips. Most included 800-1000 mile days with no comfort issues at all. That said I wear the LD Comfort shorts underneath. Plus I have a Sargent seat.

I rode 790 miles today in my first gear mesh pants. I also have a Sargeant seat. I started with the liner in and progressed to no liner over shorts as the day's heat set in. They work for me.

I've got several thousand miles (many 600-1200 mile days) with the HT Air Pants and no comfort issues at all.

I've never had any discomfot with my FG HT pants, on long trips usually have the Alaska Butt Pad on along with Aerostitch riding shorts. Maybe its due to my butt being old.

After 7,000+ miles in 2 weeks and wearing the 1st Gear pants everyday, I'm sold. Granted in high temps I needed Monkey Butt powder and the last was 784 miles.

I have about 5k on my fg mesh HT air overpants and had to check them to see if the seem was there !! I also just did 740 miles in 85-95 degrees with no trouble on a russell I have found in high temps I can't wear anything except polyester underware and a coating of Butt Butter from Sound rider and 500+ miles is no problem. Wearing shorts or jeans under them in the summer in about 100 miles and I'm miserable !! Try some different cloths under them .

Same here although I have a different complaint. Right about at the 2 year mark, the crotch zipper gave up. A week later, the same thing happened to my wife's pants. In First Gear's defense, this took 2 years and about 40k miles of riding.
