Skewed handlebars

I hope this is the correct forum for this ? When going straight down the road it seems like my handlebars are slightly off center. I can't tell if its true or just an optical illusion. Anybody else notice anything like this?

Adjust the preload, dunno where or why just worked for me.

ST1100 has a 2 point system for stem alignment. I don't see how it can get out of alignment with the wheel.

Service Manual says:

Steers to one side or does not track straight
Bent fork
Bent front axle; wheel installed incorrectly
Faulty steering head bearings
Bent frame
Worn wheel bearings
Worn swingarm pivot bearings

Tire pressures, tire wear, balance could be factors.
