Ok, computer literate guy, :D how did you do that?

OK, this has to be the only thread where I didn't learn anything. Fred's pic and Mellow's pic are both no-shows.
No explanations, either.

I took the link in Fred's first post, you can't see it but as admin I can edit his post and copy the link.. then put it in another browser window and it came up... then I right clicked on it to get a different url, thinking that was the problem.

But, I had already visited the original link so when I reposted my response Fred and myself could see the picture... but no one else can.. as it's in our browser cache...

So, it still doesn't work Fred, sorry... It's more than likely the way webshots keeps people from hotlinking to pics without visiting that site.

I think that's probably the case. I was dinking around with the vB [img] code to see if I could post a picture from Webshots...too much time on my hands!

It is because you linked the page, not the photo. Give me the link and I will see if I can show you the issue. :)

Hi Rob, this is the link I used in my vB experiment, I put in in quotation marks in this post to keep it from defaulting to a link

this is the link to my webshots page http://community.webshots.com/user/fda9569

I can't get to the first shot. It gives me an error.

But, are you trying to put a shot up like this?

Ah, they must have been overloaded.

The only I do not like about that site is that they do not have different sizes. I prefer www.flicker.com.

With Flicker you can do this.

And much larger.

You site only allows one size as far as I can see.

Not very many size options, or they are not clear to understand...

The Friendly Beer For Modern People

This is not the Flickr photo sharing site, which is spelled differently

Thanks to Rob, and others for their recommendtions. What I wanted to do was put several pictures, other than thumbnails, in a post. Since I already have a Yahoo account, I signed up for Flickr's (free, of course :D ) service.

Now for the test!

Do you not see _any_ pictures? Not just from the OP, but the follow-ups? If not, you probably have photo capability turned off in your browser. Can't remember official term. At least I didn't say, "Doo-Hickey". :06biker:

Txrebel - you got it. The normal date protocol over here (in the UK) is to put the numerics in this order: dd/mm/yyyy. Although this practice has changed a bit since 09/11.

The pic [of yours truly] was taken in New Zealand, hence the reason for (a) the 25°C sunshine, and (b) me sat on a rented tractor
