Hello all,

I just finished the FPRegulator installation and took it out for a test spin. When I started the installation, I had one flashing bar showing on the gas gauge and it said I had 45 miles left before I ran out.

After the installation, I started it up and it said I had 25 miles left. As I took off, about every 1/8 mile, it dropped a mile left - 25, 24, 23... When it got down to 17 I pulled off the road to check for leaks. Didn't see any evidence or smell any gas at all. Just to be safe, I turned around to head for a nearer gas station. As I did, the miles left started GOING BACK UP!!! - 18, 19, 20... By the time I got to the gas station it was back up to 23 . Once I filled up, everything looked totally normal on the gauge.

Any explanations???

By the way I think I'm really going to like this mod. I only did about 5 miles (got to go to Work), but there is definitely a noticeable improvement in smoothness to the throttle. I will give a more in depth review after I give it a better test ride. So far, it seems like $ well spent.

Thanks, Brian

No reason for concern...put gas in her and really test her out. If there is no gas leaking anywhere, you did the install correct.

The computer knows when the level drops to a certain point and GUESSTIMATES the miles to empty based on its MPG calculations for the LAST 20 MINUTES. However, if you turn off the machine, all bets are off. If you ride more for economy you can get further before the last gasp. By the way, others had said the last gasp is sudden and final.

I KNOW,,, FOR A FACT,,, that,,, "IF" you get some people to unhook your battery,,, when they are kind enough to install you a Cruise Control,,, that the unhooking of the Battery will confuse your fuel remaining thingy...

Why,,, I have even heard of some IDIOT,,, who ran out of Gas in the middle of no where,,, and the computer said he had like 35 miles left,,, when normaly,,, he could go 20 miles past 0 and still be running...

:::::names are being witheld so as not to cast a bad light on all involved:::::
