After much thought and consideration...time not helping much either...I have replaced the dunflops with new rubber.
This was my decision making process....
Dunflops suck. Didn't like them on my Daytona and didn't like them on the ST.
Bridgestones, mixed reviews and seemingly difficult to get right now...well, the proper 'stone's for the ST at least. Had friends that tried them in the past that really didn't like them and I'm not much for OEM tires.
Met's Z6, would have loved this tire from what I've read on it. Unfortunately, performance comes at the cost of milage and I didn't want to have to replace the tire as soon as we got back from our trip.
Avon's, mixed reviews and not enough positive feedback. What I have heard is 50/50.
Now I could have mixed tires but I really wanted to stick with one brand/type front and rear.
That left me with one tire that has had mixed reviews here. Michelin Pilot Roads. I'll post what I really think of them after I put 4 - 6k on them. So far, they stick. Brand new they stick better than the Dunflops (not saying much, I know) so I'm happy so far. Not noticing much noise...thought there was going to be this hurricane force super tsunami but, nothing like that from where I sit.
I would not recommend purchasing from Cycle Gear. My rear tire was in perfect balance with the current clip on weights; however, the front tire was out of balance. Cycle Gear only uses stick on weights which I cannot stand. So I paid them for mounting the tires and then took it over to the dealer to have it balanced. At least I have clip on weights instead of 'Lee press-on' weights.
Well, that's all for now. Will post back on this one after next week.
