Looks like my SaddleSore ride planned for next week will have to be postponed. We have had more than our share of rain here recently - 4-5 inches in 24 hours - and it has taken a toll on the NY Interstates where I planned to ride. Nine counties are in a state of emergency and thousands were evacuated. My disappointment pales in comparison to their hardships.

Those are some impressive (scarry) photos! Just think what could have happened if you were driving over that when it fell down! Sure glad you weren't there, or stuck in line waiting for it to be cleared.

The news said that both a north and a south bound truck crashed on each side and killed the drivers. Sad and scary.

Thanks for the pictures. They showed a restaurant being washed away on CNN.
Glad you are well. You have the right attitude for sure. Hang in there and before you know it you will have accomplished great things w/ your Sport Touring and Long Distance Riding like RC and Curt and some other adventures, like me(lol)

I wondered about the truck driver, very sad indeed. Until you gave the sad news, I hadn't thought of it, but if this had happened at night or foggy weather...which it may have, you wouldn't hardle see that the road was GONE.

Those same pics, that were released by the State Police made the Trucker NEws magazine for August issue. Great story...MAN Vs. WATER>.

Water wins everytime.

Poor weather has delayed my SS ride twice now but I'm shooting for mid-August now. Really want to get one under my belt this year...
