Started off bad... pulled into starting gas station @ 4am and thought I lost all of my lights  My PIAA's died... thought it was a fuse... looks like it's the switch  Cellphone decided to give up the ghost on the display too

1130 miles from Katy... to San Antonio... thru Waco... Austin... to Dallas then out I-20 to Meridian, MS... then north to Selmer, TN.

Lower back is sore... thank God for Buttpaste and UA :p: Lots of little pitstops...

Rode back to Katy yesterday... rain rain rain... :D

Good Onya, Rob! How does it feel to be part of an even smaller group? :D So, have you put your name in for the 4 Corners Tour yet?

I was just reading about the IBA and their various awards in a good article in Cycle World.. I had always thought it was a competition against other bikes. However, I did not know one can go by oneself. Really fascinating STuff.

Congratulations! If all goes well, I'll be leading a friend (and now maybe two) out on a BB1500 this weekend.

Congrats, Rob! Aside from your problems early on, it sounds like it went well. How did you enjoy it?

I actually felt like I accomplished something when I was done... I took alot of 15 minute breaks for my back which extended my time alot... not to mention Starbucks :p: , but it's the 24hr time to beat not anybody else :D The good thing about the route I took was some of it I never travelled on before, so it made it interesting to go thru it.

Next year I'll try a BBG, my back should be in much better shape ;)

Congrats Sherob!!! Tim Yow has given me my Iron Butt hat so,,, I guess I am about 99.3% official even though I have not gotten the certificate yet... :D

Tim,,, was going to DRAG me to get Certified as he was tired of hearing about my uncertified 1,000 - 1340 mile days...

Also,,, he needs a "Certified" person to sign off on some of his legendary,,, World Record runs,,, and I be his Gopher... And,,, dang proud to be it if he lets me too... ;)

Want an example,,, of Tim,,, and a average ride for him??? Here is an e-mail I got from him just 1 minute ago!!! The Guy,,, is the ONLY guy I know,,, who when I ride,,, is wanting to keep going with me!!!

I'm leaving shortly on my long awaited/planned America Ride. If you wish to ride along I will give you a couple ways to do that. I'm incorporating another ride into this one by starting and ending in Key West. Ironbutt calls it the "Ultimate Coast to Coast to Coast" , considers it one of their "Extreme" rides and only 4 @ riders have managed to do it to date with proper documentation. As I travel to Prudhoe Bay/ Deadhorse, Alaska,

The man,,, is a BEAST,,, GREAT motorcycle rider,,, and a very good friend...:bow1:

I hope Tim does it. I would have to think about how to get good receipts at some of the places up in Alaska. I'll have to ask Tim how he does it. Hope it writes it up somewhere.

BBG... next year... will have to see how the employment situation plays out... although I might have plenty of time on my hand for a while :D

I hate to think about Keith getting rained on all the way to Denver, but if he wants to ride with you he'll have to get used to it. Congratulations Rob!

Congrats Sherob

I have done a couple of unofficial 1Ks, have never gone through the motions to get certified. I keep thinking I may, one day. I have an IBA friend here who would do the certification needed, no excuse. Point of that is, good on you, you did it!
