I have now put 1,000 km on my 05 ST while riding with my new Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket (JR AE)
In Toronto, a store called Parker Bros. has this jacket currently on special so I dropped in, tried on a large, and bought a nice red/black JR AE jacket.

This jacket fits me very well. Other posts/reviews have noted that the JR AE has fit problems and finish problems around the wrists and neck in particular but I found it fit me well. I would suggest that this jacket seems to be suited to a person with a pretty good in-shape build. I'm 6' 1" 185 lb and was really pleased that the jacket fit fine around my neck and wrists. In the wind the jacket sleeves and all armour stay in place and the jacked comes with adjustable bands to tighten or loosen the fit on the arms. I could imagine that a very slender person would find that even the smallest of the 2 neck settings could be even a bit big and that the sleeves could quite possibly be too large.
The AE has an inner liner that can be removed and an outer waterproof layer that can be removed. In this warm weather I ride only with the inner liner removed. With the outer layer removed, this jacket only has a mesh layer that still holds the armour and I don't like the fit or look of this jacket without the outer layer.
I have yet to try a dickie with this jacket but didn't even care to consider that I would possibly want to wear a dickie when buying the AE.
I have found the JR AE to be a good jacket that is light, fits well, holds the armour in place and is comfortable, seems well built (1 year warranty). I feel this was an excellent purchase.
