What other bikes use the same size tires as the ST1300?

Rear tire, a few.

Front tire, not many, if any.

As far as I know, the only other fitments for the front are the Kawasaki Concours ('93 and newer) and Yamaha Roadstar Warrior.

I was under the impression that the FJR used the same rubber as the ST {as told to me when i last had a rubber change}

Perhaps the same brand/model, but not size. 17 inchers on the FJR -- and most other sporting bikes on the planet. Few bikes use 18" front tires which is why we ST riders have so few choices for front rubber.

Rear tyre some, you can interchange with a 160/70 used on the ST11 and LT BMW. I have used the 170/60 on the St11 just fine. Front, Concours, later ABS St11s. I think the only choice missed is full on sport rubber, rtaher than sport touring tyres. It would be good to have the choice sometimes.

I have a '91 VFR with a 120/70zr17 front and a 170/60zr17 rear. I'm pretty sure this is the same as the ST1100 but I'm not sure about the ST1300.

I think the early-mid '90s CB1000F (Big One) had an 18" front wheel, but then, not only did that bike not come to the USA, it wasn't a huge seller anywhere else either! How about the X-11? Another unloved bike...

I've been mulling the idea of fitting a 17" front wheel to the ST1300, but that may not be do-able or desirable in the end. You could think of this as the "Fireblade" mod, if you pleased... Or maybe the "RC45" mod? :) In addition to chassis geometry issues, I'd have to consider the ABS ring. The VFR VTEC has an ABS version w/17" wheel, as does the ROW-spec CBF1000F, IINM...

big cruisers use the size, i had originally planned on getting a set of the g850/851 bridgestones to use before i bought 2 sets of pilot roads and have the 020's here at home, i took 'em off after about less then 1000 miles i really didn't like the fall-in on them....i like the progressive/linear nature of the roads...

back to the g850 and 851s...i believe they came stock on the kawi mean streak...they are exactly same size, 120/70/18 and 170/60/17 rear...they were made for vtx1800's, vrods, etc...so should be able to handle the ST loading and give good mileage (guess) but may not stand up to hard cornering well if you like to drag hard parts everywhere

here's a link to the 'stones site on 'em
