Instructions state to use high temp silicone at joints. Is it really needed and if so, where to buy? Also, are the original honda clamps used since my tunes didn't come with any hardware? thanks:confused:

I used Permatex High-Temp RTV Silicone when installing my Staintunes. And I used the original Honda clamps.

So far no problems in the 12K I've run with Staintunes.

Do you know if this would be available in one of the local "big box" stores?

Sorry. I forgot to mention that. Walmart carries it in the automotive section. Or any autoparts store should have it also.

I omitted the silicone and haven't had any problems. Good luck with the install! John

Installation Question? Do the Staintunes have catalytic converters in them or is all of that discarded. The parts manual makes it look like the Cats are in the forward part of the muffler.

no cat in them.
