Here a while back someone posted a picture (I think) of a handy device that looked like a tall cup (black looking) to make coffee in, for camping. You just poured in hot water, coffee grains, somehow pumped  it up to pressure , waited 4 minutes, and ready was the coffee. I need one,,,,,,,,or two of these. Anyone.......?

Tor, you'll love this one (http://www.faema.co.uk/faema_x3_compact.htm).... The manufacturer calls it "compact", yet it pumps out 180 cups per hour. Who cares which color bike is fastest when you can jog at 65MPH.

That'll be part of the 2008 Gold Wing "ABS Nav Comfy Express-o" package.

Found it..........French Press...

http://www.bodumusa.com/shop/line.asp?MD=1&GID=3&LID=19&CHK=&SLT=

The Brazil French Press coffee maker, designed in the early 80's, was our first coffee maker with a price point of $11.95, and quickly became a symbol of what Bodum stands for. Attractive and functional design at an affordable price!
The Brazil has a heat resistant, borosilicate glass beaker (the standard for all Bodum French press plungers) and a polypropylene handle and base, which make the Brazil easy to use and easy to clean. The domed lid is made of a smooth matte black polypropylene and has the special Bodum safety and aroma seal to keep your coffee warm for a longer time.
Brewing coffee in the Brazil is one of life's great pleasures.
By the way: For the ultimate brewing results, the Bodum Brewing Timer (# 5630) tells you when to plunge.

hmmm :D

Page 80 of the June issue of Rider mag, has picture of a coffee making apparatus, but does not supply mfg or source info. It is a plastic filter/coffee holder that sits on top of a coffee cup that you pour hot water through. The writer say's he brews fresh coffee one cup at time. It's featured in a "Lightweight camping" article. Same issue has a great sport touring camping article.

Tor, that coffee maker you are looking at is made of glass and is breakable. I would recommend taking a look at the Java Press (http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=13635&memberId=12500226) . I have one and found it to be perfect for rugged camping. It comes in three sizes.

Dorian is right. Camping + glass = bad juju.

Check out the other coffee accessories at Campmor here => http://tinyurl.com/ahwgk
I especially like the Clipper stainless model, it makes a liter. A big plus: You can put the pot right on the stove to heat, no second pot is needed to boil water.

I bought a smaller stainless one from them, but I don't see it on their page. I still use the good old-fasioned stainless percolator when camping. The press just doesn't get the coffee hot enough for me. Of course the press makes more flavorful coffee, but it only makes two cups at most. The perk makes more than enough for me and one or two camping buds. And it is HOT!

BTW - on that same web page you'll find the one cup brewer if you're into that.
