Im looking for a light jacket and pants. Unfortunatley its kinda hard to get that sort of thing in Ireland. I spotted a Dainese jacket that was perfect, they didnt have my size, and werent to bothered to get me one.
So I went into a BMW dealer, and they had a nice jacket and pants. Its the Airflow 3. But I never would have thought of getting BMW clothing...dunno why, maybe its just a mental block (and its a bit pricey!!!). But has anyone had experience of BMW clothing??? what did u think of it?

We just havent had weather like we have at the moment, and my winter jacket with the lining removed was fine.... But now im having Heat Issues!!:D

I have a pair of gloves, airflow I think, Summer Pants, Streetguard jacket, and a pair of bib pants for the wet. I like them all. They are all the best quality and definitely overpriced. Against that all I can get is sportbike or harley. I have seen some alpinestars which I like too. I know there are other products as good for less but not locally. Victoria BC

I have the Street guard suit and the atlantis suit. The stuff is pricey but it appears to last well if you look after it.( BMW also supply the correct cleaning solutions) The good thing is that there are many various sizes available. Different styles usually zip together so you can wear the pants of one and the jacket of another style. I have had the Street guard for 5 years now and worn it pretty much continuously, cleaned yearly(10,000 miles) with only the velcro fittings being a bit "iffy" but I am sure would easily replace. I have had the Atlantis for two years, only problem with it was that the pockets were not that well stiched in the trousers. The bonus was that when I got the suit the local dealer was offering a 50% discount, yes 50%!!! so I got the complete nubuck leather suit for just over £400. and I must admit both suits are very comfortable from the off.
Go to your local dealer, try on some items for you to get the grasp of what sizes you require, get the BMW clothing catalogue which advises you all the sizes made as well as full details of each garment, and trawl the internet for some BMW dealers offering a discount, if your own dealer won't entertain you.;) all the best, regards from Sunny Aberdeen, Scotland, Keith

Was thinkin of doin that with the dainese stuff. My current Dainese is size 56, so I tried another Dainese jacket of the same size, and it doesnt come close!! So id be a little worried about buying online.
I reckon the BMW stuff are better on the size front, but I think im just gonna go to the dealer and buy it today. I cant wait a week or 2 for the gear. We are havin the weather now, and I cant take the heat. I just cant bring myself to ride without protection!
saying that, I bet i`ll be postin later that they dont have jackets that will fit! its the fuller figure, ye see....:D

Went into BMW dealer and guess what? didnt have the right size. ... so what did they do? let me take your phone number, Ill get u in a bigger jacket, and you can try that to see how u like it. I almost cried! havent had customer service like that in Ireland......eh...ever. Normally ye just get a "uhh.. only got was on hanger..."
so they called me today, and I got the Boulder jacket and City trousers. Have to say the seem really good quality. Will get to test em over the weekend hopefully.

If you're going to pay for BMW clothing check out www.motoport.com they have a high viz yellow gear that is very bright. Kinda of expensive, but it has the benefit of being made of a kevlar weave (added protection) They will get your measurements and 'custom' make it based on them

Good Luck

I use the BMW Rallye2 suit and I also have have pair of BMW summer pants. All are well-armored, lots of pockets, lots of vents, and hold up well for my kind of riding (about 12-15K per year touring on blue highways). They fit very well, are extremely comfortable and are well-made. The Rallye2 is waterproof with the zip-in liner but it's inconvenient so I keep Frog Togs in my right-side bag. Works well for me.

Generally, BMW clothes are expensive and I would not have bought these but for the good deal I was offered when I bought my bike. There are BMW logos on them but they are somewhat discreet (see Harley Davidson for extreme branding!) I have since sold the Beemer but I still use the clothes. If I was starting over, I would look at the Aerostich Darien (I am not sure of the venting in the Darien).

I have the original AirFlow suit from 2001, the gray and black one with jacket and pant. I love it and it is of good quality. I think I paid around 600.00 US back in the day. No complaints, well, except the price. I don't think you could go wrong. But if you are wanting to save money, I suggest you check this out (my current hot weather suit):

Hey Doc.

You could always look at Rukka Gear, very expensive, but at the moment, I have had no problems with their stuff. However that could soon change as well we know with the weather now closing in upon us. My gear is Ruka, so far so good so to speak but heck, they will get some flack if they do not hit what they say they do with their clothing!

I got the BMW gear in the end. I have to say it was ideal for the hot weather we had this year. I reckon it will be ok for another few weeks and then its back to the Dainese.
The BMW gear really seems good so far, good quality, and decent heavy zips.
