Here is my first pic of my new '06 ST on the road. It's at Las Pulgas Road exit next to the Marine Base Camp Pendleton. I often do this ride from my home in Oceanside just for the fun of it. A 15 mile run up the coast, and back home. A nice head cleaner! Some of you ex-Marines who were based at Camp Pendleton will remember this spot. This is where you practiced your beach landings on Red Beach! :)

Tourmaster. Vey handy! And thanks!:)

I think they discontinued it, but they have one that is very similar. Here is the website address of the bag:

Fred,
I generally exit there on my way home. I will have to keep an eye out for you.

So why not take it all the way and then circle back at Basilone Road? The BP station has not been up and running during the morning and evening commutes for some time now. If you go by San O really fast, you might not glow in the dark by the time you get home. :-)

Hi Gary! Yeah. This is my short head-clearing version. I do the "grand" loop up to Basilone and then stop at the Viewpoint to have a smoke and view on the way back.

So do you work at the powerplant? My wife Terri Adams does. In the payroll department. Why do you exit at Las Pulgas (means "The Fleas" in spanish)? There's no way to get to Fallbrook from there unless you are a ex-Marine and able to travel across the base? I usally do this ride in the morning (I'm semi-retired and between jobs right now), or in the evening to catch the sunset at the viewpoint. Less traffic and I can really open up the ST then! Ooohh-hhhooo! :D

Fred,

I'm a former a Marine and now a dependant. My wife is still in the Navy so I have base access. I work up in Aliso Viejo and drive through San Clemente, Dana Point and then hit the 73 into AV. I use the base to cut across from Fallbrook. Not as much traffic, and the drive is much nicer.

I could drive aboard through the front gate and be on the correct side of the MP station three out of five times and be sober enough to find the right quonset hut when I got to Las Pulgas. The only things that are still there from those days are the church and football field. Some cannon cockers live there now.

Thanks for the link Fred. I was thinking about getting a Cortech sport tail bag, but this may be a better fit for what I need!

I really like mine! I've had it now about three years and it is getting sun-faded. I wonder if there is a way to restore the black color from the sun-fade? Anyway, you can't beat the price. It's very nice! :)

Great Pictures. I though for a moment I know that exit, but then I saw it was in So-CA.

Hey! Your farts are two years older than mine! ;)

Yeah! I wish I had too! Here's my two excuses:

1. It was raining! I don't like riding in the rain if I can help it.
2. I thought I was going to get a second message from the ride's cordinator? (This one is as lame as the first!)

I do hope you guys keep me in mind and keep me informed for future rides. I think it would be cool to have two Freds in the group and watch us both rapidly turn on our heels in answer to our names! ;)

I'll admit it. While I sit here waiting for my FIZZZZZZZZZ bag to get out of back order, you post a pic with the rack AND a bag. I'm a big boy. I can take it. WWWAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!;)

What made you stop? Was there a small shiny object on the ground? Zippo?

Good looking ST. Black sure is purdy.

Decal? What decal? I thought you sketched that on the windshield. Your left handed you know. There's where all the art talent lies. Your bike looks great. I don't know why I had to have a red one. Faster I quess. Bill
