Heading down to Glacier NP for a quick tour this weekend - leaving Friday afternoon to Lethbridge AB (7 hours), up in the morning, crossing the Intl border, enjoying the scenery and from what I've been told - one of the great M/C roads - no motorhomes or trucks allowed - an overnight in Montana, and back home on Sunday. Even though I ride a black Nomad now:chop1: , I will still make sure to keep my waving and appreciation of the rider lifestyle in the forefront.

Road to the Sun. I was there a couple of weeks ago (Tues July 18). Yes, no motorhomes but wall to wall cars. There is a short construction area where half the road slid away and it is down to one lane. Traffic controlled by flagmen.

Did you trade off the ST1300 at CanSToc? I never did see you after Squamish to give you back your pop.
It might still be in my sidebag if you want me to mail it out to you...

Dan - Yes I did the switch after I got back - had to leave the run early - got an urgent call and turned east at Hope and shut it down at Grand Forks that night. Got home wednesday morning and to make a long story short, I am now back to the cruiser, because some of us just dont have easy access to the roads that you live nearby  In regards to the pop - yes you owe me big time - I helped out a thirsty traveller and found myself in need with no refreshments available - count on a visit from this prairie boy to collect - or........you could always send me a couple of samples from your employer ;)

+1, Rode that last August.Traffic was pretty bad(weekend, lots of SUV's).Many of the overlooks were hard to find space to park even a m/c in.I could see where it could be a great m/c road-but if/when I go back I'll take one of the restored convertable tour buses if the traffic is bad.Really is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Good choice in roads. I am staying in Calgary tomorrow(friday) at my friend Tim's house, then we will be heading out at about 6am. Will be taking the road to the sun as well. So look for two Tim's on two ST's. A slower silver 03 (Tim4255 from this site) and a faster blue 04 (me LOL). Not sure how long it takes to get there from Calgary, but we will be heading straight there. Also gonna do Lolo pass later that afternoon, and then hopefully hells canyon on Sunday!!!! Can't wait!!!!

Small world. I was at Tim's from July 14-17th (post CanSTOC). The informal term for this was CalgarySTOC, coined by Mike Turley(Billings Montana) who was also at Tim's. When I left I went down through road to the sun. After staying in Missoula I did Lolo pass. It is about 360 miles from Calgary to Missoula which is where you go to get to Lolo pass. Pretty slow going on Road to the Sun.
