Now that we know what kind of helmet we all want, how about the shield(s) to go with? Don't know if combining this in a single poll is going to yield useful info, but what the heck.

I have a Shoei X-11 and used a Iridium Blue shield during the day and a clear shield at night. I've switched to the Pin-lock system shield recently and use a dark smoke insert daytime and a clear at night. Pricey, but no more shield fogging.

Iridium for daytime, clear at night, great idea for a poll!

My Scorpion helmet has the dark shield in for all my riding. If I'm getting home and it's dusk I'll keep the dark sheild in as long as I feel I can see adequately. With traffic lights and stuff it hasn't been an issue. However, I do carry my clear shield with me so I can swap them if need be. One thing I love about the Scorpions is that the shields swap out and in very easily and fast.

Used to use dark tint in summer and clear in winter, but now use clear all-year round and sunglasses underneath. Dont' have to worry about rain, clouds, fog, etc. that way.

I use a clear shield and sunglasses, only because Arai shields are difficult to change.

+1 on Scorpion sheild swapping.

I use DS with a 'visor strip' up top to keep sun glare down in eve/morning rides. Had/have a blue mirror and it was not dark enough on the tint for the bright sun so I got a Dark Smoke. Don't do much night riding, but I keep the clear sheild with me just in case. :04biker:

When i was using my Arai, I used an Iridium visor in the day, and carried a clear visor for night. However I have a Nolan N102 now, and find the tinted half visor fantastic. Just flip it up if it gets dark or over cast.

dark smoke.
I carry a clear but rarely swap. Any night riding I do is short distance and I usually raise my windscreen.

Only clear shield for my Schuberth, 'cos it has a tinted "sub-shield" you can flip down when sunny.;)

I wear safety sunglasses all day under it and clear safety glasses at night.

I use the FogCity Hyper Optiks. It's great, no fogging of the shield on cold mornings and no need to change shields for night and day.

Clear Shoei Pinlock shield. Love it. I use shades on my subsription glasses if sunny.
