Found the following while cruising Google Video this afternoon:

The good part about this one is they show you an overhead look at what the course looks like before the exercises. When do I get to do the one with the paintball guns?

Always impressed with those types of displays.

That is balance and agility that would make many a trial rider jealous! It looks as if they have training wheels secretly mounted under their cases. They must be scraping the pegs at 5 mph.
The Iron Cross was really neat to watch :bow1:

It's like a very intense version of the Experienced Rider Course. Awesome! The Mud Run was funny!
(no animals we killed in the making of this posting)

The Shrine has yearly contests. One is national and the others are regional. In each we do some of those obstacles they showed on the film. In fact most of the time the judges etc are LEO's.
One thing that makes their OBS especially difficult are the high cones. Boy that is tough! The ones we use are similar to the ones MSF uses. This allows much more room to maneuver those saddle bags around the tight turns.
But, no matter what, Cops are exceptional at these OBS.
Brad is really good at this, and Sink is as well. I am mediocre at best. Our regional competition this year will be in St Charles MO. We have been practicing obstacles every week now in preparation. My objective, this year now that I have an ST, is getting through the OBS without dropping the darn bike.
But! The ST is SUPERB for Obstacles. You would be amazed how sharp you can turn, lean over, and manuever tight corners going slow on an ST! Every week at practice I am constantly surprised at how great she handles at slow speeds.

I found out that if you are violent enough you can trip the tip-over switch and kill the engine keeled over dragging in the middle of a chicane.
God! Your a Beast! ;) Congratulations! :D I cant wait to see you guys in action!:) :) :)

What's the location and time of day for the event in St Charles MO? Name of event or webpage maybe? Thanks much, I might be able to get down to watch.

I'll give him $100 if he can do that with a heavy bike.

You better retract that bet, because you would LOSE.
That is basically what we do and with heavy bikes. Even Harley Ultra's compete as well !
Speed is critical in OBS. The best time wins. EXCEPT you would get penalized time (Seconds) everytime you put your foot down. Granted the two points where they do that extremely tight circle, which requires a planted foot would not be in our obstacles. Ours would be a larger keyhole, but the rest is the same, and a lot of them (like Brad) go pretty darn fast through them.

It wasn't a bet, it was an offer.

I know. Misread it at first, then reallized it after the post. My bad !
I just returned from competition in Austin, TX this weekend doing exactly this stuff (only much faster) on my ST1100 and a teammate's KZ1000P.
Our team won first place, and I got fastest individual. The ST1100 is just tailor-made for this kind of stuff. I found out that if you are violent enough you can trip the tip-over switch and kill the engine keeled over dragging in the middle of a chicane.
I also managed to go all the way over and drag my right-hand exhaust on the pavement. So much for pristine exhaust. :-|
The trophies made me forget all else, though. :) :) :)
Congratulations!!!
Dragging exhaust is something I haven't tried on the ST (yet... I did it on a Kaw 900 :-) ).
Mark
What have you given others $100 to do, Brad? Spill it! Oh, I forget. This is a censored forum.....
Congrats on the obstacle course Brad. Maybe you can give me some pointers!
