Sept 1,2,3,4 me and a friend are going on a ride, camping for the 3 1/2 day trip. Low budget, riding is the priority, and we would like to end up in New london CT to take the ferry to greenport, NY. We are starting and ending on long Island but will be taking the ThroggsNeck Bridge on the way out.
Anyone recomend some roads to take or sights to see?
I am on my ST1300 but my friend is on a Valkyrie. I will go slow so he can keep up. :D

The riding gets better the father north you go. I'm from western Mass and recommend these roads in my neck of the woods:
8 (CT border north to VT 9)
Winding, winding, winding. Nice places to stop along the river between New Boston and Otis.
112 (Huntington north to VT 9)
Sweepers. Lots of fun north of Shelburne Falls into VT.
116 (South Deerfield west to Adams)
Twisties, twisties. There are a couple bridges being rebuilt that were washed out by spring rains, but it's all well marked and no big deal.
2 (Greenfield west to NY 22) This is the Mohawk Trail. Great twisties approaching North Adams, and again on the west side of Williamstown out to Petersburgh, NY.
Plot these on your map and have fun.
