Do you stock the Official Nascar helment with the hole for the Chicken Fries? :)
Did Arai Americas drop their silly "no remote sales" policy, then?

I don't work for them... just posting the email I got. Call them to get the exact price... don't think the web price is the real price ;)

Ciao,
It appears they did. The Helmet Shop is now selling mail order as well, and they used tohave a "You must come into our shop for a fitting" policy on Arai.
I just bought one, but got 20% off at a local shop, which matched any price I saw on the internet (including the ones at Helmet Shop and Helmet City.

Thought I'd add:
I have bought 4 lids from Helmet City and had good experiences each and every time. Just bought a Shoei today, as a matter of fact. Wont be here till Wednesday though. :-(
I do not work for Helmet City nor do I receive anything for mentioning them, darn it. ;-)

I was at the Helmet Harbor retail store today picking up my new Arai. They told me they could sell on the 'net now but Arai was controlling the discounts and prices would still be cheaper in the retail stores. Seems like Arai is determined to continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Love the helmets though. This is my third Arai SZ/M and nothing is as comfortable or fits me as well.
I can only surmise that they (Arai Americas) had noticed a drop in sales significant enough to cause them to abandon their insulting "our loyal, repeat customers are too stupid to fit their own helmets" policy. It was all for our own good, you see...nothing about tightening the distribution channels and preventing discounting... Idiots.

Ciao,
Yup, the guy at the store told me Arai had flung the door wide open to Suomy, Shoei, etc. to come in and snag market share with good products at good prices delivered in a convenient way (through the 'net). I suspect Arai's arrogance cost them dearly.
