Excellent that someone has copied the British version of this.
Now we just have to get out there and post on automobile web sites.
Posting here is preaching to the converted.:D

So why don't we see this all over the TV as a public service message?

So why don't we see this all over the TV as a public service message?
Looks like a New York State public service announcement, but it would truly be a public service to share it nationally!
I remember that driver who pulled into my right of way and nearly took me out by Mt. Holyoke College. When I pulled up alongside her at the next stop sign, she apologized profusely as she pleaded her case: "I'm so sorry but I didn't see you!"
"Well I was there," I informed her. "You didn't see me because you didn't look carefully."
Ride like you're invisible, my friends.

You said it Bones...and don't assume that just because you have aux lighting, loud pipes and high vis gear that you can be seen.

I had a case last year where a driver came to the end of an off-ramp that ended on the street I was riding. The driver was stopped when,
1) made eye contact with me
2) acknowleged I had the right of way
3) turned his view straight ahead and proceded to wait for me to pass by.
Then after what seemed like 2 seconds passed, he gunns the gas pedal while still looking strait ahead. - Could you believe it. . . he forgot I was still coming. - I hit the brakes harder than I've ever had with my STeed while my thumb was on the horn switch, at which point, he realized his mistake and slammed on his brakes too. - My front tire came to a stop about 2 feet from his door. - The look of horror on his face as I proceeded to flip him a middle finger is forever etched in my mind.
I'll bet by now, he's forgotton all about it. (only because it wasn't HIS life on the line). I hope that guy manages to see this movie someday.

Sounds very similar to our accident back in April Al. The only thing different was that he didn't stop and came right out into our path proceding to cut us off again.
What can you do?
All he got was a $100 fine so he has probably forgotten about it too.
