Are you on the LDRiders mailing list? I would suggest posting there. Rob Nye is in Rhode Island but not sure how close he is to Providence or what is availability is.

Should not be a problem. It takes 10 minutes to get across RI north to south even;) :D :p:

Not yet. Thought I'd try here first.
Thanks for the tip!

Check http://www.rallymasters.org/witness.cfm
However you don't need a 'special' witness for a non-extream ride and even for the extream rides you can usually find a police officer or fighter. You should be able to find a bunch of LEO's ouside The Atrium in the centrr of Providence judging by the riot I got caught up in during the MM1K rally this year but that's another story ......
There are a couple of guys in RI and a bunch in NE. Check out the New England LDRiders on Yahoo groups for a bit of local colour once you are on the LDRIder list :-) If you are in a jam I'll happily ride down to witness you.
Good luck with your ride

Thanks, Andy!
BTW, being a Southern boy, I've never actually been that far north. What kind of weather can I expect in New England in late October? I can add electric liners, etc. But, I don't do snow.
Guess I'll find out in October! I gotta be in Providence on 10/25/06. I'll either take the bike, or my 4WD SUV! ;)

As far the weather, there is probably very little chance of snow that early. End of November would be more likely but still not too common for CT and RI. Weather will be in the crisp to chilly range. I would say anwhere from 30 - 60 degrees..
With the 30 and 60 number to be rare..
I am next door in CT if you need help, back up, place to stay, eat, rest..just let me know.Send me a PM and I'll hook you up with my contact info...If you are planning on Interstate 95, you could be at my house in 25 minutes when you are passing through New Haven.
BTW...I may be doing an SS1000 with Georgeorge and CTYankee of this board the last weekend in October ourselves..Its really a good time to ride.
As to the weahter in New England..
As Mark Twain wrote..'if you don't like the weather in New England, wait 5 minutes...'

Weather is ok that time of year but can get 'chilly' in the early morning, I ride pretty much down to 20 degrees and that's about my limit. An electric jacket would be a useful thing to have along if you feel the cold :)
Cheers
