It is a product that does not work on a closed loop system, if you do a search this has been covered before.
Try searching Power Commander, Open Loop and Closed Loop.
Here is one of the threads that will come up when you search.

You do not need a power commander with staintunes. The power commander is a power chip for the EFI. Dynojet could not get them to work right with the ST from last I saw. I would stay away from it unless the bugs are worked out. I do not think they even make one for the ST anymore, but this info was from last year.
The best thing you can do is get a Fuel Pressure Regulator from Turbo Tom to go with your Staintunes. I just put one on with a K&N filter with my tunes, and all I can say is WOW! This thing is like a new bike. No more flat spots.

Todd, do yourself a favor and buy the tunes and forget the commander. I have tried the commander on every bike I've owned because on every site for every ride someone claims the commander is the cat's meow (but if you have lurked on the vfr forum you should all ready know this is crap), and okay, i'm gullable and want free horse power. the truth is the commander just trades one problem for another, and often adds a few. There is nothing for free, and it's hard to beat the engineers at Honda. The commander probably cost about 2 cents to make in china, but Honda said, "no, we will not spend 2 cents to make our bike kick ***". Please, think about it, and you will know in your heart the truth. that said, be prepared by those who insist on defending their purchases, (farkles), long beyond the point of reason. The power commander that does what the supporters claim it does is sitting right next to the two hundred mile per gallon carberator that big oil is keeping from the public. And don't tell anyone, but big foot is gaurding the secrets, so don't risk it and get your *** big footed! The tunes do sound good, look good, and don't cost so much that you'll experience buyer remorse. Buy the commander and you'll quickly find yourself regrettin'. I did, many times, but not this time.
You really need a more knowledgable dealer.

I guess I'll just have to toss that 14+ hp on my new FZ1 since I installed a slip on and PowerCommander. I had no idea they were so bad. My RC51 jumped from 117 on the dyno to 133 with Satos and one of Dan Kyle's maps on that PowerCommander; too bad I wasted the $$$$$. And I couldn't believe my 919 jumped from 105 with Staintunes to almost 111hp when I downloaded that bloke from Austrailias great map to the PowerCommander on that bike. I can't wait to go back to jets and needles to change my fuel mixture instead of just pluggin in my laptop and altering the fuel curve. I hear that F1 racers are going back to that, too; all that fuel injection tinkering is just a waste of time. Absolutely use only what the factory gives you, because they have your best interests at heart.
OR....
maybe this particular bike's EFI system won't work with a PowerCommander, so it's a moot argument for the ST (I'd take one in a heartbeat if they were available for this bike.) They've been a benefit on every bike I've installed, chiefly if just to richen the factory lean condition, an that's easily proven by measuring header temp, no dyno needed. If someone can't get an improvement in performance with a PowerCommander, they don't know what they're doing. Period.
That being said, the Staintunes on my ST are great and I highly recommend them. Todd, buy and enjoy.

I have a Techlusion EFi modifier that I still have to get around to fitting. It involves fitting two "O2 eliminators", which changes the system from closed loop to open loop, then lets you set the fuelling like a carb, getting rid of the lean burn throttle response. Apparently. I'll post in the winter once I get the thing fitted.
I've done quite a bit of research on this, including talking to a guy who built a home-made FI system for his car!
Honda don't build their fuel map to make the rider happy, they do it to pass emissions standards. Unfortunately it's not as easy on a closed-loop system like the ST to get the fuelling to where it should be. Unless the O2 feedback is taken out of the equation, a Power Commander won't work. Bummer.

Scaredy,
That is one way to address it. The guy who originally designed the Techlusion stuff now has a company called FI2000.
He actually is working on a unit that will work on the ST as is.......one can only hope. LOL

Let's keep our fingers crossed on this one. That would be very cool.
