Here is my first edited video using my new Canon Elura 100 camcorder. What a great camera! True widescreen, almost Hi-Def! Too bad I can't show you the un-compressed version; outstanding!

A short 5 min. video of a ride to the San Onofre Viewpoint on Highway 5 California.

Thanks to Jdog for inspiring me to get the Canon...

Canon Elura 100, Microsoft Moviemaker editing software, 1 pack of cigs, lots of coffee.

Music by The Who. PUMP UP THE VOLUME and JOIN TOGETHER!

Fred,

:th1:

Where did you get the visor for your helmet?

Now that you have it working, get off the slab and find us some real roads!:D

Cheers!

Yep! That's the one. Super-Visor. One note of caution; make sure you glue that puppy down good! I had one flip off and down into my face one time. Scary! I use the supplied glue and also super-glue to be safe. Now it's like pernament! LOL.

Thanks guys! The camera is really really nice! I really wish I could show you the un-compress version. It is so clear and detailed it's scary! But the file for the 5 min. edited video is 1.5 gigs! I burned it to a DVD and play it on my 42 inch plasma widescreen TV and it looks fantastic!

Yeah! More to come! Better roads, more twisties. I have some ideas on views and shots. Can't wait to try it out! Keep posted!

yes, a definite improvement over the Olympus C-8080. I know what you mean about the uncompressed video. I have crystal clear, vivid videos in AVI format, but you have to sacrifice alot to get it to a streamable format.

Hi finewest,

Your right that is an outstanding video. I like the way you edited in several different views including yourself. What type of ball mount are you using and where did you mount it on your bike?

I use the Canon Elura 100 for my main camera mounted on a Manfrotto ball mount bolted to the dash frame. It sticks out just above the nose plastic through the windshield (yes the windshield is cut). I also use a 560 line Helmet Camera mounted on the rear which plugs into a Panasonic PV-GS400 as the recorder, which also I can mount on a TL3 Woods Powr-Grip suction cup almost anyplace in any direction. And, a 420 line BulletCam mounted to my helmet.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the future....these things are additive!!!

That is very kind of you George, thank you. I am simply using a RAM mount on the clutch resevior. That's it! I agree that this is very addictive! I have been a fine art nature photographer for the last 15 years and haven't tried video until just recently. What a new world that has been! And it's kind of ironic. My Father is a film grad from USC, and my uncle is a fine art nature film maker Fred Hudson. Where did I go wrong!? LOL.

Anyway this is opening a whole new way of visualizing for me and I'm am looking forward to really exploiting the Elura and my creativity with it.
