View Full Version : Most bikes owned at one time?
At the moment I have 3 in my name, one of which I bought for my bride so I voted 2... and there is a fourth in the works, but that'll probably lead to unloading one in the current inventory... how about ya'll?
The results of this poll might even help me avoid having to unload anything if I do happen to end up with a fourth in the garage... :D

Bikes do not take up much space in the garage so I have three
an 84 GPZ900 and a 90 RMX250 enduro to keep the ST company.
Was toying with selling the 900 but it will make a good retirement project some day.
Honda Shadow 750ACE and cb550k when I bought the ST, but I sold the other two to help pay for the ST, so my packed garage was short-lived.

I put 1 only because I can't afford a Goldwing right now.....I believe it to me highly reasonable to have 2 or 3 in my garage that I primarily ride.

Most at once has been 4. A '71 BMW, 1941 Indian, Shadow Aero 1100 and a '84 intercepter. Only 2 at the moment . The Shadow and the '41 Indian and the Shadow Aero is up for sale so I can get a ST in the garage.

16 years ago when we bought our first house 9 motorcycles were involved in that move.
1. 87' Honda 700 Nighthawk SC
2. 83' Honda XL600
3. 79' Husky 390
4. 81' Yamaha YZ465
5. 74' Bultaco 350 Sherpa T
6. 70' Honda CT70
7. 73 AJS 370 Stormer
8. 74' Yamaha DT400 enduro
9. 74' CZ 250
As you can see I was into vintage (74' and earlier) dirt bikes. Wish I could have held onto the Sherpa T and the AJS.
16 years later with a morgage and the cost of raising 2 kids im down to just one bike, my 04' GS Adventurer.

Ehhhmmmm......one.
Because a car was too expensive to own and drive when I was a student in the Netherlands ($10/gallon gas and all), so I bought a motorcycle.
Is 268 times more fun than a car too. :D

Ponies???
Well,,, being a farm,,, and I had 2 sisters that rode Ponies and Horses instead of Bikes like me,,, at 1 time we had 21 ponies,,, and 2 horses at the same time... Dad was happy I wanted bikes because I will always remember him saying,,,
At least you only feed the Motorcycle when you are riding it,,, the Ponies and Horses eat,,, EVERY,,, DAY!!!

I'd love a whole garage full, but I've got the one I want most so I don't complain...I ride!
Garages over here are tiny...which is why I've got mostly small motorbikes! I've currently got nine in my name, but one's in boxes, and three others are scattered about in three other countries... I'm trying to convince SWMBO that it's a "collection of vintage motorbikes" which will be worth a fortune some day, but I'm not very convincing!
Ciao,
I think my vote will have to be adjusted after today... I only voted 2 because the third in the garage isn't mine. Two rides today have changed that... I believe we'll be putting her Ninja up for sale, she was a nervous wreck (and it wasn't my fault... more of a "motherly" thing as I found out later ), and we both agreed there will be another time and place. We scrapped the original plan early in the ride, returned to the garage and got the ST out for some quality two up time together. Then I went and put 100 or so miles on a cherry '99 VFR which is quite likely to come home and replace the Ninja... so then all three will be mine :D

I am currently holding at 10 bikes. I had 13 last year, but that seemed like kinda unlucky. Added an extra garage in 04 as our basement 2 car drive in garage was getting a bit crowded.

At the moment 2. 2000 DRZ400S and 98 ST1100. Was three for a couple of months until I sold my 82 Yamaha Seca 750. Had my Seca for about three years before I bought my ST. It was my cheap "get back into street bikes".
