I wanted a better sounding exhaust for my ST, but was having a hard time getting up for the Staintunes or the other brand exhausts. So I started checking out other options and ideas. I found some mufflers on ebay for cars that had the right dimensions and pipe sizes and ordered them. They were relatively inexpensive and had the local muffler shop hook them up for me. I made some brackets and hangers out of steel and aluminum. They turned out pretty good and they sound really good. I am happy with the results and best of all I have less than $130.00 in the whole deal, $60 of which went for the muffler-shop work. Pics included,,,

Do those have catalysts in them, too, or are they just mufflers?

Did you then do the FI balance/adjustment to make for proper tuning?

Indeed, more pictures needed. Especially with bags and from the rear.
But the most important question is... does it sound like a Guzzi (Italian beritone) or does it sound like a farting coffee can (like every other dime a dozen riced out Acura Integra sporting neon out there)?!
It's too bad they're not just a bit longer so they could go right up to the elbow in the interconnect pipes you had made up...

Wondering about loudness level also,, Compared to Staintunes or the 2 Brothers ?? Im betting, due to the outlet size, they have a bit of a bark to them.:D

I took a look on EBay,thinking you couldnt possibly buy Mufflers for that cheap.. Sure enough, there are many sellers of good looking stainless Muffler cans for sale from $10 and Up.. One I found on there looked especially nice. It was the same length as the origional muffler and had an adjustable end cap to allow for more or less flow=more or less noise and it was only $20 each. The common inlet size of the mufflers is 2.5 inches, the stock Honda inlet is like 2 inches.Meaning, the fabricated muffler shop pipe must also be expanded along with bent correctly, then welded to the new muffler.Nicely ,we can only hope..Some shops can weld, some cant.;)
Myself,, Im going to give it a try, right after I talk some Exhaust shops and see if they are willing or up to the task of creating the connecting pipes.

Sorry for taking so long to reply with more info, been working alot. The mufflers do have some decel pop, but it's not bad and the stock has some too, but you can't normally hear it due to the restrictive muffler on it stock. I have added a Turbo Tom fuel press. reg. for a K&N filter I added awhile ago and haven't noticed any difference since adding the new mufflers in the way it runs. I really like the way it sounds; it's a deep throaty sound at idle and doesn't seem to get louder much at all underway. I haven't heard an ST with the other brand mufflers in real life, so I don't know how loud it sounds compared to them. I do know that at idle it is louder than the CBR1100XX I have with a full Yosh system on it and it is quiter than the VTX 1800C I have with a cobra slash-cut system on it. I have a few more pics and a link to the place on ebay that I got the mufflers from,,,

Hey TD,, Thanks for the Link,, Question tho. I see that you didnt have the connecting pipe welded to the muffler itself. Slip fit or is that best weld I have ever seen??

Those look good and probably sound just as good as the $750 2 Bros I just mounted. Sure makes me feel like I get screwed every time I get something for a bike. You can always buy stuff (exhausts, tires, etc) cheaper for cars.
