Well I am back and in one piece.
Left Laredo and headed into Mexico a little after 2:10 am on Friday morning.
Crossed back into the US at 2:24 am and headed for Canada. I couldn't get
any sleep Thursday night but was doing ok till I got to Waco and the sun was
coming up. I pulled over into a picnic area and got 1/2 hour sleep on a
concrete bench and then hit the road again.

From Texas to Arkansas, onto Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and over to
Louisville Kentucky where I stopped for some much needed rest and sleep
(1300 miles). Checked in to a motel around 10:15 pm and left a 5:30 wake-up
call. Back on the road a little after 6 am through Ohio and into Michigan.
Crossed into Canada around 12:20 pm. 34 hours with two hours to spare.

From Louisville all through Ohio it was misting, never took the rain gear
off all day. Finally crossed over into Canada from Detroit. (350 miles).
After about two hours of chatting with a couple other riders, getting back
through US customs I headed back towards home.
Ohio was a heavy mist with intermittent rains. Traveling was much slower
especially in the heavy rain. Saw one car in Dayton that had left the road
and looked like it rolled several times over a chain link fence. Car was on
one side of the fence and the driver was staggering around on the other
side. Police hadn't even arrived yet so I must have missed seeing it by a
minute or so.

I was going to go to Knoxville and ride the Tail of the Dragon but the
weather and I was heading the same direction and it wasn't letting up. Went
back to Louisville and spent the night again. (350 miles).
Sunday morning was nice and cool as I headed to Nashville. Kentucky is some
beautiful country. Nashville, Memphis, Little Rock, Texarkana, Houston and
finally home around 11:45 pm (1000+ miles)

Over all the ride was great, theST-1300 preformed flawlessly and the gas
mileage average was around 42mpg. Gas prices for premium ranged from $2.66
to $2.99 a gallon, mostly around $2.76. The $2.99 was in southern Illinois
in the middle of the hills near nowhere. I kept looking for the young boy
with a banjo on the porch and waiting for the guy that ran the station to start squeeling like a pig....or ask me to!

GPS reading:
3111 miles, 2 days 22 hours 20 minutes.
3 countries, 9 states
Average speed 59.3
44 hours 42 minutes moving, 7:46 stopped (not including stopping for sleep)

Wow it took us 12 days to go that distance out to the East coast and back.
I guess you did not have much time to stop and enjoy the scenery:D
Thats quite an accomplishment:bow1:

Congratulations, Dude! :bow1:

The weather was really weird for this time of year around here. It felt like mid to late October.

I know you were pushed for time, but if you're ever in the area again, give me a shout!

Congratulations, Dude! :bow1:

I have to say that I was really caught off guard with the weather change but the cooler temps felt great and I do want to go back to KY. some time. The scenery was great and I know I only saw such a small part. Must be some great roads to ride there.
