Louie,
It was great meeting you finally and I'm glad to hear you left with good memories of Colorado considering your mishap.

I hope it all works out for you!!

Louie,

What Rod said. Very nice meeting you at WeSTOC, and good to see that you were in one piece. Now get that new bike and come join us in Redmond next year!

Colorado is inundated with stunning views, I can't imagine a more scenic place to ride. Pictures just don't do justice!

Really glad you enjoyed our wonderful Colorado!! It IS an AWESOME place to live and ride, for sure, for sure, for sure!!! I'm just sorry that 1) I had to be in Florida during a WESTOC that was so close to my home; 2) I didn't get to attend WESTOC, and 3) that I totaled my ST a little over a month ago!!

I hope everyone had a great time sampling our wonderful roads! Come back soon!

Ride safe!

For all of you that attended WeSToc, if you made it to Gore Pass that is where you would have been in complete aaaaawwwww of all use Colorado STers. New pavement on a some of the best sweepers anywhere.

Glad you all could get a taste of Colorful Colorado. Hope you all can visit more often.

You guys are making me miss being out in CO. I used to live in Frisco and Broomfield. I loved riding my 84 Sabre in the mountains with my wife. The scenery is some of the best in the nation.

I hope to be able to get out there with my ST. Maybe a WeSTOC out there next year?

Great to hear everyone having fun. I'm so jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live on the east side of Stanley Lake, just south of JeffCO Airport. Been there for 11 years. Just bought my ST last April, last bike was a 83 Yamaha Venture Royal I bought in San Diego, CA in 86.

Here's a sad story for you since we're talking about the beauty of Colorado's natural wonders...

In 1995 I bought an acre in Colorado City, CO with the intention of retiring there. In 1999 I got married to a wonderful Filipina named Arlene. I made a tactical error by taking her to see my future retirement spot during a snow storm. She informed me we could visit but we would never live there. You have to know that she thinks 80 degrees is a cold snap.

Sherob has met Arlene and can attest to the fact that, although she is only 4'10" tall, she is NOT to be trifled with (okay, I have trifled with her but only for fun). So help me, I have seen her swing a 28" machete and it is an inspiring sight in a negative sort of way.

I tried to get here to go with me to WeSTOC but she needed to stay home with our son. I figured all that magnificent scenery would win her over.

I haven't given up yet. Stay tuned!

4'10"? What? That's it, it must be. I've been marrying wormen that are way too tall. That'd put me a smooth 16 inches taller.

I am way more hardy than Arlene. I don't get really cold until it is under 70. But I do like Colorado when it is 110+ here. It is generally nice there when it is crazy hot here.

For over 10 yrs I lived in Northern New Mexico, had the Sandias, the Sangre de Christos, the San Juans, and all of western half of Colorado as a summer play ground on GoldWing and ST1100... Seeing all this comment and pictures makes me HOMESICK big time.

But for FAMILY OBLIGATIONS, I'd still be in the Rockies for that's where the heart definitely IS.

I didn't go to WeSTOC... I said it was the cost... it was the cost both in $$ and in heart ache at having to endure the agony of leaving the mountains behind to return to the dense pine and oak forests of the Big Thicket in east Texas...

The longing for the mountains remains STRONG and is only overriden by FAMILY FIRST.

Don't forget to add the machete length to her height. Sixteen inches starts to disappear quickly.

Actually, Arlene would have gone in a heartbeat if we could've found a babysitter for Mark. She's looking at all the photos and reading the posts here and is kicking herself for not getting to go. I'm hoping she'll change her mind about living in Colorado as I intended to retire there someday. JR is right - it'll kill you to have to come home to the piney woods after riding Colorado or New Mexico.

Don't even get me started on the Pac NW - I'm already trying to figure out how to swing WeSTOC XII!

Have been vacationing in Colorado for the last 40 years... Sometimes 2 or 3 times a year... Have not gotten tired of it yet... Each time you go on a previously ridden road, you still see something new.... Looking forward to next years ride(s) out to Colorado....

I grew up in the great NorthweST. I really like it there in the summer, not so much in the winter.

I am trying to set up my calander so that I can go next year. It will depend on a lot of things....But I know some places (particularly in the EaST) that need to be seen.
