Is there any way to get more power out of the ST without doing any major mods? I installed the FPR, K&N, and am now waiting for the Staintunes to arrive. Coming off a ZZR1200 I miss the 160HP but really am enjoying the comfort of the ST.

That's about it. If it was HP you wanted, you should have gone with the FJR. But you would have given up comfort for power. The Staintune sound and the loss of 24lbs will help power:D
1. blower/ turbo
2. nitrous
3. install bigger engine
4. lose weight (less weight = more HP)
If it was HP you wanted, you should have gone with the FJR.
Except the difference is negligible.

The comfort factor came with a price,, not only more money ,but HP as well. I understand your situation, I traded in a CBR 1000. I miss the serious accel that bike provided some times.. But the St fullfilled many other requirements I needed.Personally,I looked long and hard at the ZZR before I bought the ST. I think I would have been happier with the ZZR, but Honda Financing welcomed me, and Kawasaki said,, I dont think so.

I've seen power commanders for the st but have never seen one in action
The Power Commander is not available for the ST1300. They tried and their engineers couldn't figure it out.

My son has a ZZR and I really like it. More horsepower and a more agressive riding style. I rode it for about 75 miles a few weeks ago and if it wasn't for his throttlemeister I wouldn't have made it without major discomfort. To me the ST is a sport TOURING and the ZZR is a SPORT touring. They look similar but they are 2 different animals. Too bad you couldn't have kept both. I tried to trade my son my SV for his ZZR but he wouldn't go for it.

I had the ZZR set up with Heli Bars and it worked out great for me but my wife just couldn't stand the wind blast as a passenger. I tried for two years to make it more comfortable for her but nothing worked. She loves the ST so it worked out, at least now she'll ride with me again.

Yea, the wind comes right over that stock shield pretty hard. I can ride my SV with no shield and crack open the shield on my helmet, but on my son's ZZR it slams my helmet shut if I do that.

Yes, thats what he is saying... don't you listen :D. You can get one, BUT it will give you more headache than happiness. Two/three years ago on the MSN board many people had issues (surging, flatspots, etc.).
One ST'er lived near the DynoJet guys and used his bike as a guinea pig - result - nada. They couldn't figure out the ST's map/system. So you could use it, but you won't be happy with result per $.
Others said techlusion's computer worked well, and it's cheaper. But I never found anyone/thing that said the power was better, just "drivablity". And the techlusion was a little more difficult to install.
You want more power? Turbocity Tom's air filter, air box mod, fuel regulator, after market pipes ( less weight ), and you losing weight is your best "trouble free" bet. Or find yourself a used CBR.
You could ride like me ( a bit of an *** ), I tend to ride like I'm on a sportbike - the ST is plenty fast.
Twist the grip and have fun,
Tom de

They have it listed on their site but I would be surprised if they have anything to sell you. They won't have anything to sell you when they try to order it from DynoJet.

:) Hi Keendog:) .....The St1300 makes its power a little differently then the ZZR ...it is a little slower but once you spend a little more time on her you will find she's not as far behind as you think!....Pull the bags off, crank the rear pre load, and install the Staintunes......lay on the tank and let her rip....red line the first four and call in the morning:D ....the trick is to learn to shift just before the rev-limiter kicks in....I have only lost to my brother(05 repsol) and one Busa so far.....remember alot about being fast is the rider:cool: not so much the machine......one more note ...I find myself being able to push it more in some cases on the ST because of the confidence of the braking power of this wonderfull machine(.)....which brings up practicing your emergency stops......do a bunch...it really helps!!!!!!!!!!
........Good Luck....ride safe  .............
Don't know if this pertains to you; but, I've heard it said that the best way to get more performance out of the bike is to take 30lbs off your weight...
After all the riding and eating I did at WeSTOC and NatSTOC I think I should be able to get 25lbs of better performance... :o:
