Do you wear one, and, if so, how often?
Why or why not?

Scorpion EXO-700...All the time...Because I owe it to my family to do everything possible to come back from every ride.

Scorpion, always... My dad started me and my brother off right, we could not move the bike with the engine running without one. Now I believe he would come out of the grave and kick my butt....
Plus the fact I have scraped up so many off the highways with out them...

Because its my choice and I choose to wear one ,
They better the odds
but do not increase the common sense
You may catch me without a 'Stich, or without a jacket on occasion, but I will never roll the tires without a helmet.

I wear mine most of the time, but I must admit when I step outside heading to work and it's warm and sunny I sometimes leave it in the sidecase. I live about 7 miles from work and I might pass 5 cars on the backroads to work. The helmet is on at all other times.

Ditto that.
Same reasoning for the scorch-my-retinas yellow jacket, extra lights, things like that.
And also because I just feel uncomfortably unprotected if I wouldn't be wearing a helmet.
Just like I never drive without my seatbelt on. I even ask my passengers to wear their belt when they haven't put theirs on, shortly after I start driving. Do you know how hard it is to get blood stains out of your dashboard!?

Ok,Ok let see, lets see......Mary, well at least the bike..........
Yep, gotta wear one. I got in the habit running moto-cross when I was still young and agile. Now we just a tad bit older when things "break" easier I dawn my noisy HJC flip face.
Careful out there....Ed :D

Way back about '63, as I was returning to WSMR from El Paso, I was passed at the gate by some WAC's in a cage. I knew a dirt shortcut so I hurried to get ahead of them so I could have a look.
I hit a wash a little wrong and dumped it. Popped my exhaust pipes loose and I landed on my back in the dirt. Put a nice ding in the back of my helmet from a rock protruding from the dirt road. I vowed never to ride without my helmet as a result of that lucky accident.
Never did catch up with the girls. Shucky darn.
I have another story about why I never move my cage without my seat belt on.

Always....without exception.

It's probably 99 percent of the time, but I could not check always. I live about 200 yds. from our church and I don't wear one when riding to it. I know, I know...
Also, when in Panama City Beach riding along the coast, there are times I don't wear it.
For what it's worth, I am a much more conservative rider when I'm not wearing the lid, and very conscience of the fact.

Always, Even when I go over to AZ and it is 115 out, I still keep it on. As an LEO, I have seen it save lots of heads from going splat!

 It's my first full season of trying to wear the gear all the time, I believe its at about 10 to 1 ratio so far!!!!
In Ken's world this is great.....because last year it was 1 to 10  one being the times out of ten ratio that had it on:shock:

Where my full face all the time. Why full face and never open face...........I'm not really concerned about a concussion or anything like that............it's this pretty face I don't want damaged !!!

I think this pretty much covers it.
Always.
Why? Because I'm not stupid.
Plain and simple.
Even though helmet use is mandatory here (as are seatbelts) I would feel really exposed without a helmet, gloves and jacket on. Keeps the bugs off my pretty face as well lol!!!

Ah, a fellow well acquainted with Murphy’s Law and irony. ;)
Always, even when the law doesn’t require it; ditto for eye protection. Those bugs that go splat on my face shield are proof enough for me, not to mention the occasional rock kicked up by the cage in front of me.

AARRGGHH. Most of the time. I don't wear it around the 'hood, a semi rural suburb. Why? Because I have only one eye, and at low speed I can hear things before I can see them. Just about darn near every second with the jacket, can't remember riding with out. I double the eye protection, shatterproof glasses all the time, to go with the shield on a couple of helmets. I always have a helmet in the side case, if I go on...

why ?
1. It's the law :)
2. I have a brain in my head :D

In Blighty the law requires us to wear a lid. I think I probably would anyway - I quite like breathing!

Also, I have ridden around private land without a lid on and I find that your bike always sounds ****e without a lid on.
Has anyone else noticed that?

Protection (impact, road rash, eye) and comfort. (Wouldn't be comfortable without the aforementioned.)

I always wear a full face helmet, but simply for the comfort factor. Its like seat belts, once you get used to wearing them you're not comfortable without them. I tried a 3/4 helmet once and I just didn't feel right. I never considered riding without a helmet simply because the bugs and such smacking my head never seemed attractive. It's not a safety thing for me, its comfort.

Gotta wear the lid all the time! I hate the sound my skull makes when it splits open!
MDLaw

Why?
1. Give myself the best chance possible to survive.
2. It's the law.
3. I look better with my head covered in a full face helmet. :D
Raven

Always
Why?
1) It's NOT the law (Arizona is a Darwin state)
2) Just to be different
3) Carrying a helmet gets you dates
4) Have gotten into the habit of breathing without the aid of machines
5) Like the fit of my ST better than a box
6) Looks better with asphalt gouges than my scalp does
7) Asphalt gouges on a helmet make great training aids
8) Provides shade
9) I'll never be mistaken for a cager
10) I like the way my hair looks when I take it off
:nuts1:
Unfortunately, I've not found a full-face helmet that I can wear longer than about 20 minutes due to arthritis issues in my neck so I'm using a NEXL-Sports helmet since it's the lightest weight helmet I've been able to find that's DOT certified (I've now had the opportunity to test crash two of them and both did excellent). Now that they're making full-face ones, I may try one since I'm in the market for a replacement.

You can take your hair off? Is that, like, a toupee?
Sigh... I wish I had hair I could take off, but most of mine divorced me years ago.

Hey man if you live in the UK it is vital cos it acts like insulation to ward off the cold. Having been hit by a bee in an open pace helmet at 20 mph and the bee doing about the same......your mad not to....it was like being shot.
Remmber....may the force be with you.
