The latest issue of Cycle Canada carries a nice story with pics of a fellow who was asked to take an '05ST1300ABS from Ontario over to British Columbia.
He was being asked to provide his impressions of the bike to the Victoria, B.C. RCMP who are considering adding the ST to its stable of bikes. Bike was all done up with white paint, red and blue lights, special storage area in place of the panier (similar to the Smuggler). Unfortunately the story was just that....more of a travel story than a bike review but it still made for an enjoyable read.

I read that, looked like they cut it short. I kept flipping pages looking for the rest of the article...doh

And it looks like the Victoria Police went with the BMW as Honda couldn't deliver the ST1300P in the time frame they were looking at.
On the other hand, that is the trip I hope to make next year.

The Victoria Police had converted their own 2003 ST1300's when I was there this spring. I don't know if they went back to the BMWs, but they certainly looked like they loved them when I saw them.

You are confusing Victoria Police with Saanich police who bought 4 RT1200s. Interestingly 1 of those brand new Beemers was towed back on its first outing. I think Victoria is still in spec and purchase phase. They like the ST and I know at least 1 Victoria Moto Patrolman that wants to become a personal owner of his Ex police model.
