I couldn't help noticing the top box you have; it looks like one I've been eyeing as a lower-cost alternative to the Hondaline and Givi boxes. I've been looking for a top box, for 2-up riding with my wife; currently I have a Stealth backrest, but I was looking to either replace it or supplement it with a top box, especially for longer trips. The box I found (model 2012) is available at http://www.customcyclegear.com/ and the burgundy looks to be a good match to the '05 ST.

So, I'm curious about the box you have; how long have you had it and how do you like it (and if you ride 2-up, how does your passenger like it; does it feel comfortable and solid enough for a backrest); is it from the same source, or somewhere else? How difficult was mounting the unit, and is it easily removable when not needed for trips, etc?

I'm strongly considering that box; the cost differential is considerable, and it looks to be a good value.

Sorry to hijack the thread... but seeing the beach setting reminded me of the trip to Key West we're planning, and the top box will be needed by then (November). If you have any comments, I'd really appreciate hearing them.
