The NESTOC Website is up with some information already on it.
http://home.dacor.net/norton/moto/nestoc/ (http://home.dacor.net/norton/moto/nestoc/)
Lots of info about the event already on the site.
It's in Cobleskill again and there is some great riding from there both North in the Adirondacks, and South in the Catskills.
NESTOC attending:
Up Thursday night for the
FRIDAY RIDE (mostly highway)

2) Greg (maybe)
3 ) Eddie
4 ) John
5 ) Todd & Michele
6 )Nancy &
7)Kerry Kerry riding sweep
The Saturday group I'm leading.
SATURDAY RIDE (a mix of highway, county roads, and a couple real back roads)
1 ) Dawn & I
2 ) Greg (maybe)
3 ) Eddie
4 ) Todd and Michelle
5 ) Bones (Saturday only).
6) John
7 ) Chris & Sam
8) Stan & Elaine
9) Kerry & Nancy
Dinner slotted for 7:30pm at the Diner by the Motel Fri. & Sat.
That's both Friday and Saturday night, we could go as early as 7pm or as late as 8pm depending on the landing time in the evening.
We've already filled up a group, but I hope you guys will make yourself additional groups from this site, organize them here, and join in. I will be happy to share the route we scoped out for last year (which got rained out for most riders with an unusual monsoon type rain). If anyone wants it, just PM me or email me.
There are a bunch of suggested previous routes posted on the NESTOC site also which are very good. We took the covered bridge tour that is posted the first year, and had a blast. There are photos still posted back in 2005 and 2006 on the old NESTOC thread if you want to check them out. There may well be a new route or two posted up later for this year as well.
At any rate a bunch of us will be at the bar in the Motel after supper to get together and shoot the bull with anyone who feels like joining us Fri. and Sat. night. They even have a bowling alley if you aren't into the bar. Odds are we will get some great weather this time 'round.

Adam has sent the following message to the NESTOC list:
All of the Dinner contracts have been signed and sent in. Vic has updated
the web site. Take a close look, some things have changed. Due to some
suggestions, Friday night's menu has been re-arranged. Everyone can now
start calling in their dinner reservations. If you have any questions,
please drop me a line.
Could someone pass on a note to the other ST mailing list's and forums ? Say
the ST1100, 1300, FALLSTOC, ST Owners, etc ? I'm not subscribed to any of
these. Let everyone know that the NESTOC web site has been updated for this year. Thanks !

I'm ready Todd! (only I'm sticking with Rum & Sprite or Black & Tans).
OK guys the time is approaching so here is the list for the group I'm leading.
SATURDAY RIDE
1 ) Dawn & I
2 ) Eddie
3 ) Brian A.
4 ) Todd and Michelle
5 ) Bones (Saturday only).
7 ) Greg
8 ) Chris & Sam
9) Stan & Elaine
10) Kerri & Nancy
That turns out to be a pretty maxed out group number wise, so if more people want to run this years route with us (it's the one I scoped out for last year), there will have to be a second group with leader. If a second group forms, groups can leave separated by a bit of time.
We won't be taking supper at the Motel this year, and we still need to scope out a place to grab some chow around Cobleskill. This should give us more flexibility time wise for the ride. Checks get split.
Tradition demands hitting the Motel Bar and closing it down at 10PM Sat. night though. :D :D :D
Hopefully this year snorkles will not be mandatory equipment. We've started the year out right with perfect weather on the NJSTOC pre-ride last weekend, so with good luck, the trend will hold.

Carl,
Looks like a great group once again. So looking forward to this ride after the rain last year and the impromptu mod bog, I'm hoping there is no mud bog to race in this year. I just won't follow John into any parking lots. Dinner away from the crowd with both old and new friends sound like a great idea, and we welcome a change from the previous two years. If you get a chance could you post the route you have planned? Then I can program the Garmin.

Here's a Mapsource and a STreets&Trips file Stan.
I have my road preferences set to small roads preferred and medium ones less so, the other roads down to zero.
Also I have my map detail set to the second to most detailed. Sometimes this makes a difference in how the program opens the route.
it'll be good to see you all again Chris.
The route has turns, lots of elevation changes, along with adequate rests, and some nice scenery. I think you guys will like it a lot.

A few of us decided to go up early Thurs. Night, and ride Friday also. That Friday ride was set to be kept light, and is already full up . However, I encourage those others that can get that time off to form up their own route and group for a Friday ride up in the area. Lots of good riding up there. It's not hard to head up into the Adirondacks from Cobleskill. Youse could hook up right here on this forum and get something of your own going for Fri.
Of course Saturday is still on as posted.

I see on the official site that you have a kazillion more people (oh OK, 33 more) signed up than you mention in post #8 for the Saturday ride that you (Carl) will lead. But there are no more posts in this thread for getting together more people for new groups.
I would like to try and come, ride with a group other than yours (since yours is full), but how do we get another group? I am reluctant to take the lead, because I might not make it to NESTOC at all. Also, I am long on taking care of my young children and short on time. :o:
Any suggestions?

You're right, my group is pretty much overflowing at this point.
However Dennis, you made a good start posting here, though I haven't noticed anyone other than you outside of our group posting up about NESTOC on this forum this year.
I see a few other guys from PA are coming on the NESTOC official site (Brian A. is riding with us). You could shoot an email to the list that is on there asking if anyone has room for another rider to join them riding the area, and there's a good chance that you would get some replies. Maybe some of the PA folks would even like company riding up?
There are some real good routes posted on the official NESTOC site as well, so you could scare up a Buddie from your area to come with you, and you'd both have a good time. We'll be gathered at the Motel Bar after Supper for BS time and Bowling. It offers just a walk to your room afterwards to avoid drinking and riding.
If another guy, or a couple guys from this site are willing to go (NESTOC offers a nice riding area) this thread is a great place to organize getting together.
Anyone willing to hook up with Dennis, or let him hook up with your group at NESTOC, post it up here.

Hey guys I just signed up for Nestoc and will try to come up Thurs night. Pretty sure some other folks from CT are coming up then so maybe we can hook up.
Hopefully my wife will decide to forsake her Sportster for the weekend and just go 2up. Would love to get in on one or more group rides but I see that alot of the rides are not recommended for 2up.
So I guess I'll just say that I'd like to hook up if another group forms, but would be limited to 2up rides... unless of course the SO is having a good time in the bar .

Carl_T

Kerry,
The only ride not recommended for two up is the Route 3 on the official NESTOC site. That is because it includes a climb up the goat trail.
If you two can do that many miles in comfort in the time allotted (you'd have to leave early), that is a great ride and there is no reason that a halfway decent rider can't go slow enough up the goat trail to accommodate a passenger.
While Plaat Clove Road (the Goat Trail) does have 3 or 4 pretty sharp turns, it's main features for two up issues are no guard rail for long steep drops from one side of the road, narrow, steep climb, crappy pavement. They repaved some of it which makes it a lot better now than it was.
If you get down in first gear, lean forward, and take it slow over the rough pavement it's certainly doable, certainly without getting on pegs or any such, it's just a short area of bumpy ride free of guard rails on a road about 18 feet wide in places.
Dawn and I led Billy and Danielle riding two up, down the Goat Trail, and that's a LOT harder to do than climbing up it. They didn't find any issues since they went reasonable speed for conditions (slow first gear). It's a mile or so climb.
ANY of the other posted routes are two up friendly.
For an easy going, beautiful ride with cool covered bridges to see, take ride number one. That would be HIGHLY recommended if your wife brings her Sportster, not too far or technical, but a great ride. It's the ride the first group from ST-owners took a few years ago and we loved it. Maybe Dennis will hook up with you.
If ride Friday in the area, heading up Rt.10 into the Adirondacks is nice for a couple and nearly impossible to get lost so long as you have one map.

I'm going to head out 7am tomorrow morning to check out places that might be good for supper up in Cobleskill. It's supposed to be a nice day for a ride. I didn't bother the CT group about coming along as it would be too early a time to roll out of bed in the morning for them to get here in time. I have to be back for early evening fo' cake and coffee.
Happy 61st Birthday to me tomorrow, made the mistake of getting a haircut, MAN it is turning gray suddenly underneath, must be all them da*n salads I've been eating to lose weight. :D

Just in the interest of refreshing memories for some, and for others this is new, here are our group guidelines which we will use at NESTOC.
We have pretty much been successfully using the following group riding rules to guide us on our rides.
NEST Group Guidelines
1. Ride at your own risk. The rider alone is totally responsible for the equipment, the rider’s own safety, and the safety of any passenger. By riding with us you agree that you and your passenger are riding completely at your own risks.
2. Respect all traffic laws. Ride with personal responsibility. If you violate any speed limits or other laws, you are totally and absolutely responsible for ANY consequences.
3. Don’t ride impaired. No one may ride with us while impaired by alcohol or other drugs. We do not partake of even one beer with a meal while continuing to ride. Nor should anyone ride with us when any other impairment to their physical or mental condition which could affect their ability to ride safely.
The time for drinking together (for those that want to) is when the riding is done for the day or evening.
4. Ride YOUR OWN RIDE, and AVOID the bike in front of you. This means that you should ride at a pace that is normal and comfortable for YOU. You must be aware of the limits of your skills, abilities and experience, and ride accordingly. Do not exceed your comfort level by trying to keep up with a faster rider. If you crash, you'll ruin everyone's day, especially yours. There is zero reason to try and keep up with a faster rider, let them go. They agree to be waiting for you at the next turn off *see rule 5.
5. You are RESPONSIBLE for the rider BEHIND you FOLLOWING THE ROUTE. When you reach a turn off, check your mirrors. Stop if needed in a SAFE and VISIBLE spot, either before or just after the turn off. Make certain the rider behind you sees you. Do not resume to full pace until you are CERTAIN the rider behind is making the turn.
6. Do not tailgate. Maintain a safe braking distance by endeavoring to follow the "three- to four second rule", with a two-second minimum at all times.
7. Ride single file in twisties and on secondary roads at least 3-4 seconds behind the rider ahead. More is OK too.
On faster State roads with longish straights, more traffic, and sweepers that don’t require much lean, close up to more normal 2-3 second following distances. Whenever heavier traffic is involved, you should close up more to a 2 or 3 second following distance, but never closer than 2 seconds behind any bike directly ahead of you, on any type of road, even where we are riding very slowly due to traffic.
8. Ride staggered on divided highways and in town.
9. Your lane is your limit, over the centerline is equivalent to going “off the road”.
10. Pass other vehicles at your own risk and with your own judgment. Pass other vehicles ONLY when YOU yourself decide it's safe to do so. DO NOT use any hand signals intended to tell the rider behind you how to pass; IGNORE any signal you may see from another rider telling you to pass a vehicle (other than their own). DO NOT make an unsafe pass because of concern about being left behind. The rider in front of you will wait for you at the next turn off. *See rule no. 5.
After passing other traffic, in general (when safe to do so), pull to the far right side of the lane for a bit upon pass completion. This habit allows a passing rider behind you (if you've missed seeing them in your mirrors), to get back into the lane behind you more quickly and safely (if space becomes tight with oncoming vehicles). In an extreme unforeseen emergency (with oncoming traffic), the rider behind would be able to tuck in next to you in the left side of your lane and drop back, perhaps saving a life. Otherwise, side by side riding is to be avoided in all normal circumstances (Beyond stop light line ups).
You should AVOID expecting to line up next to the rider ahead when passing as a normal passing procedure, pass only when it is safe to do so. Expect to line up behind the rider ahead after the pass.
11. Leave your ego at home. If you're not comfortable maintaining the pace of the rider in front of you, wave the rider(s) behind you by. *See rule no. 4.
12. Do not pass other Riders in the group. Except when YOU can judge it safe to do so AFTER being waved by. *See rule no. 8.
13. Set speed to sight line (speed set to where you can stop within what you can see).
14. Use your turn signals when turning, changing lanes, or pulling over. Remember to cancel them.
15. Faster riders ride closer to the leader, more laid back riders take up near the back, no novices for sweep position.
16. In general negotiate riding closer or farther from the leader at rest stops. unless you feel the need to wave others by to drop back for a more comfortable pace.
17. Don't "peel off" secretly. Let at least one other rider know if you decide to leave the ride, so time isn’t wasted coming back to find you, thinking that you crashed or had a mechanical problem.
18. Make sure your bike is safe. You are responsible for ensuring that your motorcycle is in a safe operating condition and that it will not pose a hazard to other riders or you. Visually pull a safety check on your bike and your neighbors when we stop.
19. Wear good gear, at minimum a DOT helmet with eye protection adequate protective jacket, gloves, and boots. Protective pants are also preferred. It’s likely a good idea to bring sun glasses or something to cut glare mid day and clear lenses for evening if we get stuck out in the dark.
20. Keep it SAFE FUN.

For those who have hooked up to ride with us, Chris, Stan, the following is the general loose plan so far.
We all meet up around 7 am Friday Morning for breakfast at the Diner behind the laundromat, part way down the hill from the Motel (I think it's a blue building, but don't quote me on that). Try and gas up Thursday night as you are rolling in.
Friday plan is ride into the Dacks, I got the route laid out in the GPS, about 230 mi. We hope to be in around 5:30pm or so at the Motel. Maybe do Pizza Hut (it's real close), eat Diner food, or something or other for chow. Bones we can hook up with cell phones Fri night. Bar in the evening for conversation.
Saturday early enough Breakfast at the Diner, and on the road by 8am, in by 5:30-6pm maybe, change into some jeans, and eat supper at the Diner, bar afterwards.

Okay guys. I'll be calling the Diner at the end of this week as they want notice and a head count. Pizza Hut may not have room for us Friday, as most of those places are a long wait on the weekend,
so I figure to just eat at the Diner both Friday and Saturday nights. I'm going to give them a
7:30pm Fri. Sat. time (the Diner by the Motel),
for both nights, so we should be able to roll in and eat anywhere between 7 to 8 with that. I'm hoping to be in by 6PM anyway, but that gives us a lot of leeway for rest and photos and whatever, with no stress about pushing it last minute.
The Diner said they don't take reservations, but they would set up for us ahead of time.

Long term weather is saying rain up in the Dacks Friday, and probably not down south of them (Maybe Bones doesn't have the Voo Doo Doll after all, but then long term weather is BS anyway).
I've put together an alternate route that should be really cool to run on good stuff we haven't seen before, using parts of the posted twisty route on the NESTOC site, and parts of the area I know pieced in. We have to hit the road around 8am after breakfast Friday morning to do it.

We put in a bid on a house we finally both loved at first site. After searching for 2 months. Only to find out that someone else bid on the same house. We each rebid and I went 2Gs OVER asking price only to find out the others bid more..so there goes that one.
SOOOo.....we make a appointment to see another house that we both like awhile back prepared to make ano offer on that one. 3 hours before I our appointment I get a phone call saying its now under deposit..
:cus: :cus: :cus: :shrug2: :shrug2: :shrug2: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Have another 6 more to look at over the weekend. We have seen over 30 houses and it is very frustrating...GRRRRR!
Maybe if we find THE one this weekend..
Sorry for the Hijack today but need to vent.
Rule #1 - long term (5-10 days) forcast is almost always wrong, especially if it says it's going to be decent.
Rule #2 - if you start talking about it 10 days out you jinx yourself....
Toodles, been there... we looked for 6 months and were oddly blessed that in that time our house didn't sell cause we didn't find what we were looking for... not even close, and the only things we saw that we liked at all we couldn't afford. We're stil in a strong buyers market up here, sounds like your area has made a transition the other way. Have faith bro, things have a way of working out... and if you live at the campground for a few months you can bank the xtra cash to pick up a second bike :clap2:

Hey Todd, I had the same situation on one of my house purchases - we bought in the late summer, didn't close till late fall. We enrolled our kids in the new town's school (Bolton) and shuttled them ourselves till we moved. Kind of a pain for a few weeks.. but it worked.
For those headed north on the way home (even if you live in a different direction  ) I'm planning a swing up to Long lake / Tupper Lake for lunch, then turning on the homing beacon and heading east through VT to NH from there. My approximate plan is up on Groeprider.com in the Northeast Sport-Touring group, the ride is titled "Going Home from NESTOC"... http://www.grouprider.com/jg.php?g=173

Sending good energy your way for this weekends search Todd. Hope you find a goody!
Took Dawn's 250 Ninja in for the recall, stopped at the Triumph Dealership, put on some serious miles going the long way home, that little things is a hoot with the gearing change. What a featherweight.
Eric, our son just called on the phone. he went in and passed his motorcycle permit test and now has the STates permission to ride with a licensed rider within a certain distance of him (like a half mile).
Looks like I've got some lessons to give (MSF marked parking lot here we come). Then the MSF down the road. We were going to use Dawn's Ninja, but she doesn't want to risk a drop scratch, so it looks like the baby SV will be teaching him the ropes with me. At 25 he's an avid bicycle rider, but never been on a motorcycle before. He got the clutch down in 3 or 4 minutes, and playing with that inspired him to go get his permit. He's been thinking about it for a couple of years now.
Eddie mentioned we are starting our own family riding club down here. I don't think my daughter will ever get into it though.

OK guys, in case we miss each other for any reason Thurs. night.
Friday morning 7am gassed up at the Diner, on the road at 8am.
Saturday morning 7am gassed up at the Diner, on the road at 8am.
Both days about the same mileage.
Diner is Right Turn towards the Laundromat half way down the hill (going towards Rt.7) from the Motel. Pass the Laundromat, and the Diner is just a tiny ways down the road.

Well the forecast is still looking at least halfway decent both days in the areas we'll be riding in. Scattered thundershowers with a 40% possibility can mean mostly dry riding with a spot or two of rain.
They are also showing around 80-ish temps. with a 60% chance of sunshine, which aint so bad at all. Light air gear with rain suits over top if it gets a bit cold for the air gear towards night, is how we're going to try it.
Saturdays ride area at least is still saying scattered as well, while up north where we won't be going Sat it is just rain forecast. We have a good chance to still be reasonably lucky on this one. Since Bones is coming as a birthday boy, how can the Sun help but shine.:D
Anyone wants to share room costs with John, PM AgSTreak.

I'm going to miss Nestoc this year, and haven't been following the thread. Are you touring the Catskills again this year? If so, be especially watchful of the LEOs.
Last weekend, the holiday weekend, we rode over to Hunter. Its about 200 miles of back road fun, from our house in Sayre, PA, to there. On sunday morning, in a small town near Hunter, we had an in-person meeting with a LEO. Nice fellow, he wanted to check out the ST1100, and let us go on our way with no further invitation. It was on Route 42, just off 28A, the town of Lexington. State troopper, not a local.
I realize the holiday weekend they probably had extra forces out, but I recommend you watch the speed in in the towns, even ones with a population of 10.
Greg just told me he probably won't make NESTOC, again. He didn't say, but I think the rainmaker scared him off, not naming any names mind you:D .

Todd dropped me a line asking for and overview. Here's a copy of my answer to him to refresh everyone's memory.
In the morning both Friday and Saturday, breakfast at the Diner next to the Laundromat, half way down the hill (going downhill towards the light for Rt.7) from the Motel. Road to the Diner is on the right just past the Laundromat (not the other Diner on Rt. 7 where we ate breakfast before). It's a wood building, blue (I think).
Come in to breakfast gassed up and we'll roll at 8am since the weather forecast claims morning riding will be sunny and dry both days (maybe depends upon the weather man your checking with). The Diner's about 400 yards from the Motel, don't ride down Rt. 7 to the other Diner.
Supper Both Friday and Saturday night at the same Diner about 7:15 PM, they will set up the side room for us both nights. Makes things simple since you could walk there for supper if you felt like it.
We'll stop off at the bar after supper, no alcohol drinks during the ride please.
Weather man says sun and scattered summer thunderstorms, bring rain gear and a camera in a baggy, then hope for mostly dry riding, which we have at least a chance at.
Adirondack ride Friday, Catskill ride Saturday.
I can't wait, I'm really needing this :mcrider: :beer3: and I'm so ready for some good friends and good fun. :D :D :D
Dawn and I will probably get up there around 9PM Thursday night.

Blow by blow, hour by hour weather for our route looks GREAT for Friday!
10% chance of rain, sunny and warm for the day's riding until 4PM. Then it's scattered thundershowers with only a 30% chance of rain which often leaves you dry.
By 7PM when we should be nearly about to eat at the Diner it goes to 40%
I hope it turns out half that good!!!!!:D :D :D :D Mostly dry Friday, but no blow by blow available yet for Saturday's ride.
Even if it's scattered thundershowers for a few hours of the day the single day icon will show scattered thundershowers for the day, so no good forecast until the hour by hour gets posted.
Rubber down guys!!! :)

I'm home, rode it strait through with no stops, no rain, 196.1 in 3:35, had a few prime sections of NY 7, VT 9, and NH 123 to myself for long enough to provoke deep grins :D. Was great seeing old friends and making some new ones too.
I guess Adam is going to pass the organizational baton off to someone new, and some talk in the bar about Ottawa possibly being the next location for next year.
Anyone know of a BMW event this weekend in VT. I passed a lot of K and R bikes east bound when I was heading west for NESTOC, and then passed a bunch more plus a lot of GS's west bound on my way home. Didn't see many on the east side of Wilmington and Rt. 100, guessing it was to the north a bit from there.

Home at 11:50. I ran into one thunderstorm and a bunch of crazy CT drivers. After spending time on NY roads, it's hard to believe people can drive so slowly. Maybe that's so they can devote more time to cell phone calls and pay less attention to other traffic. Enuff venting:mad: !!

Dawn and I pretty much hit rain as soon as we dropped south a few miles, but we slept in real late, so that's why.
It was warm enough out so the water wasn't really any problem anyway. We stopped and grabbed a bite on the way and need to buzz off to her brother's Birthday party now.
It felt so good to see you all again! We really enjoy everyone's company more than you can know. It was a real pleasure to meet Kerry and Nancy who turned out to be a prefect addition to our ride as well. They fit in on the ride perfectly, and I compliment each and every one of you on your quality riding this weekend. It was far easier than it should have been to run all 10 bikes through the area due to your intelligent, thoughtful skill application. Great job guys!!!
Nice to meet the rider from Highland also, and look forward to riding with him one of these days, maybe NJSTOC, that's within a one day driving range for you.
OH man, thank you guys for your kind praise. I look forward to when the photo gets posted of all of you lined up and bowing to me...
Oh...
that's right...
there never was a photo op like that...
Oops, that Diner food gave me weird dreams.
Sorry about the crappy food guys, the locals swore by it. The family that owns the place probably drops seed money around town for the local people to steer any strangers into the Diner for a proper stomach slam. Either that or there is actually greasier food in town than that. Cheap tab compared to usual though.
I liked the old ladies food at TA's place for lunch OK.
Anyway, what a great time Dawn and I had riding with you, every one of you. Big smiles from this end.:) :) :)

Hi. Back safe and sound around 2:00. Looked at the weather channel this morning and knew I'd get socked whether I went north or south since a wide east-to-west swath of nasty cells were moving north. No way to avoid the deluge...go ride!
I decided to go explore south of Cobleskill starting on 10, then did the Carl-inspired "County road, I wonder where that goes" thing. I ended up on the backroad side of that first covered bridge we saw two years ago. Roads were empty. I did 990v and that nice right to Prattville. A while later I ended up on a back road that delivered me a new way to Andes NY. FYI, Cassie's Kitchen, next door to the convenience store in Andes, serves up some A-1 blueberry pancakes, with a middle-aged waitress who was cheerful and good-looking and fully toothed (nice change of pace from the down-the-hill diner...with that one noteworthy exception, of course).
There are only so many places you can cross the Hudson and I shun slab so I chose Catskill. Talk about your cloud to ground lightning on 23A -- youza! Pretty much dumped buckets on me from the entrance to the Catskill Park all the rest of the way home.
I saw an amazing electrical fire at the side of the road around Monterey. Fire fighters had the area coned off, told me what was up (lightning strike, downed powerlines). They decided I could go around. There were bright white flames and crackling sparks I could hear even with earplugs in, coming from a live wire and pouring rain. Anyone thinking about a ride on MA 57 west of MA 8, think again: lots of the road is just missing. Run off, erosion, it's a mess.
Silver lining: all the rain helped washed off 2 1/2 days worth of nasty bugs!
Thanks to all for the planning, especially to his Motorness the Cardinal for leading us into temptation. Pix in short order.

Fantastic weekend! Nancy and I really enjoyed hanging out and riding with all you guys. And special kudos to Carl for putting together a couple of great rides :bow1:
Like Todd said, we went thru some pretty heavy stuff on the turnpike coming home, but my old Harley raingear didn't leak a drop... like some of their other products :D
We'll see you all at the next one!

Great pics !!!
Looks like you all had a really good time! - I'm glad to see that Bones managed to keep the weather at bay for the most part.
Carl! - I really like your "Bad-A** Biker" impersonation, with you saluting :22yikes: next the that curfew sign.
It really was quite an impressive portrayal, with all your cardinal red gear on, :D :clap2:

Back home at 6:30 Sunday night; in time for dinner with the wife & kids. 902 miles for the weekend. Took an out-of-the-way eastern loop & checked out the Old Forge area - nice. It was great to meet everyone & hope to do it again soon.

STeve! cool pics!!! I'm really glad to see you guys weren't swamped out in monsoons like NESTOC last year was. We had a lot of for real sun this time around and it felt good to group ride in dry weather again.
Here's a few more photos for ye.

We just got in safely after logging just over 1500kms. Most of the trip back from Lake George was in some pretty heavy rain so we were glad to reach Napanee. Thanks to all for a great time and especially Carl for putting a fantastic route together.
It was a pleasure meeting Kerry, Nancy , Stan and Elaine for the first time and we look forward to riding with everyone again.

Those photos from the bike are just awesome Stan! I never thought of that, figuring it would blur too much, but they look good. Was it Elaine doing the shooting?

You'll notice ONLY the fastest RED one blurred in the first action shot Stan posted..
All other colors were slow enough to be captured by the camera..:)

   I can't really argue much with you on that since I had one of the fastest red ones way back when a couple years ago. Now days I gotta stand in for the blue though. Tomorrow it may be orange, or black, or white, or green, or purple, or yellow, or..... hey.... maybe all those colors in the same year.... how bout that, Huh???? That would be fun to own one of every color, you would always have the fastest color then. :) :) :)

Sorry - GG wasn't trying to rub it in, but you did miss an incredible weekend.
Carl - Elaine took the pictures from the back seat. Wish she didn't have to hold on in the really tight turns maybe next year we'll try a helmet cam.
Todd - I think the Blue bike the camera was on was moving so fast it made the red bike and the trees you were parked next to blurry.

Stan, love those pics, thank Elaine for me too. They come as close as possible to capturing the real feel of that ride. Sorry Brian, you really had to be there to understand. It was much easier finding stuff to kid about last year since the weather was sooo bad.

Very cool STeve!!!! It looks like you are having a great time of it there! Sigh, if wishes were wings pigs would fly. Anyway happy you got some sunshine to ride in over there in motorcycle country.
NESTOC was cool too, really nice weather overall, lots of good friends to ride with, can't ask for much more other than maybe more days to ride.
I just got the word Dawn's and my Russel Day long seat is on it's way, and will be ready for NJSTOC.
