I'm sure everyone is going to be relieved that my entry:
"My ST at Niagara Falls"
was recovered from the file system and completely restored.
Actually, there are a few artifacts from missing image data, but you have to look very hard to find them.

Those are great if you've got 'em in high-resolution. Best thing to do (after the board is fixed) is post the original and I'll crop it for publication.

This picture was taken on 4-13-2007 at about 7:20 PM at a little viewpoint off the Interstate 5 South overlooking the Pacific Ocean north of Oceanside, CA about 10 miles.
Coordinates were:
33º18’49.64 N
117º28’57.19 W
The bikes were my 05 and Mandel’s 04 we were returning from the ERC held that day in Long Beach, CA. It was a perfect day for riding. Sort of hoped I'd run into finewest there, I know he loves this spot.

Thanks Fred.
Here's a couple more.
That first one is my favorite though. I had seen that same spot and angle on the internet before going to Yellowstone. When I got there, it started snowing so I unloaded my bike and threw my tent up. I was tired, so I was going to take a quick nap and then ride around the park later that evening. I woke up just as the light was starting to fade. I jumped on my bike and headed out. I found the spot just as the sun was starting to set. I'm NO photographer, but I think the lighting really helped the shot.

Here's one from your neck of the woods.
The lighting is pretty bad on this one though. When I set up camp, the sun was setting over the ocean and I got a lot of glare. Not much I could do with it.
Edit: I adjusted on the contrast and it seemed to help with the lighting.

Yep! I know that place! It's only the most beautiful road in the world! LOL. BIG SUR!
Photography is my first love. Shooting pics into the sun can create dramatic effects. One good way to "balance" the harsh light of direct sunlight (direct into the sun will cause your meter to try to make the brightest spot a average grey. All light meters do this.) is to use your camera's fill-fllash function. Not knowing what kind of camera you are using, I can only assume it has this feature. If not use the flash any way and experiment with FILL FLASH techniques. Then you pics will really pop in brightly lite scenes; like sunsets for example with a bike, or people in the fore-ground.
Lesson and rant over! Sorry! LOL. I really like that first one! Great lighting and dot on composition.
Example of fill-lighting a bike in sunset scenes:

Cool photo, but it looks like the rear is coming around... Check out the angle of the front wheel compared to the fairing. Did that all go alright?
And when your face is straight behind your gauges, you have no business hanging out a knee. It might as well still have been against the tank in this case.
Great to see an action shot, after all those flower-and-sunset photos (which are ALSO gorgeous, BTW).
IT came out alright in the end . My face was originally looking over the mirror and wasn't trying to drag my knee. Picture was taken as i started correcting moving back center of the bike .:)

In the past mark (blrfl) picked the photos from this thread and the got them to me and I put them into cafepress. That's where you'll be able to purchase one. If you click the store link (http://www.st-owners.com/index.php?page=STuff), you'll see the the calendar and a link to cafepress where you can get one. In fact, last year's calendar already has 2008 dates incorporated in all the pages, with the exception of the first cover page.
The whole process should be done prior to December to give everyone some time to get their pics posted. Due to an effort to keep bandwidth down, all image uploads on the site have been limited to 800x800 however, if the photo is picked, you'll be contacted via email for a larger resolution pic.
Hope that helps.

There are some guidelines for submissions here (http://stwiki.notonthe.net/twiki/bin/view/General/CalendarPhotoGuidelines). I'll probably start sorting through all of this year's submissions soon and have something ready before Thanksgiving. Now that I have preparing the images down to a science, it shouldn't take as long this year.
Also note that Cafe Press is now selling the 2007 pictures with a 2008 calendar grid. Joe, maybe you should suspend selling it until we get the new pictures together.

I guess I will throw this one up for consideration.
Then hopefully here in a few days I can do one in a more scenic setting.
The more I think about it...this does tell a story.

Actually, Rob, that's a great setting. Lose the charger cable and the duct and leave a bit more room around the edges of the picture for me work with it and it'll be great.
By the way, your garage is disgusting. Can I come by and mess it up a little? :D

I think you meant where the wire was run?
Just a positioning question...
Does this photo give you enough room? Or how much more space you need, and where? (Top - Bottom - Sides)

I enjoy your photography, especially the first photo. It deserves placement in the calendar even without the bike falling over.
I though I better get a few UK pictures into the running.....Hi quality versions available in the Photo gallery
The first one is taken in Scotland just before the bike fell over

The second is also Scotland

Guess where the third one is taken?
http://www.st-owners.com/pp_gallery/data/500/medium/DSC_06182006-09-11_11-33-39.JPG
This one was taken in Slovenia just a few weeks ago

And just a few days after the Slovenian picture was taken we found ourselves fighting our way through the snow in Switzerland

And just to add at the end another from Scotland

A nice November morning overlooking the Mississppi. I put the bike front and center because that is how I think it should be in the ST1300 calendar. ;)

I guess it's about time to start picking pictures. Those who posted after the new restrictions on image size were put in place will get PMs asking for the full-size version.

I still have a couple of months that aren't spoken for yet, so if you have pictures you haven't posted yet, post 'em up!
I hope to have everything wrapped up and ready to go to print next weekend.
