Red River Gorge, just east of LExington on Route 15 is pretty cool. Road follows the creek and through some sandstone rock formations and a hand cut tunnel (one lane wide - eeks!). See http://www.redrivergorge.com/

Shaker Village sout of Lex is goof for a look around and some good eats. See http://www.shakervillageky.org/

Stayed here once:

Had a neat little pub attached to the place.

Route 460 from Frankfort to Mount Sterling is nice. There are tons of horse farms along this route - kinda cool to look at as you ride along the winding road and hills. Makes you feel really poor once you consider how much these places must cost to own and operate.

Route 11 is decent - it parallels I-75, just to the east of I-75. Lots of small towns to crusie through and look around.

I have some other routes that Isaved someplace, let me know if you want me to post them and I will.

Here's one route we've done:

Route 30 – Salyersville to Jackson
Twisty, hills, great sportbike ride and not bad on an ST.

Loop to ride:

460 East out of Salyersville, turns into 114 and then into 23.
After Pikeville, turn right (south / west) onto 119
119 to Whitesburg
Take 15 north out of Whitesburg to Jackson
Then take 30 north / east back to Salyersville

Hope you have a GPS. The roads down here are known by several route numbers. Hard to tell what road you're on sometimes!

I don't have GPS. On the plus side of that...I have never ever been lost! I have not known where I was at, but as long as I have my bike:biker: and a road..I won't be lost:D

Ha! You won't be lost, just won't know where you are all of the time.:D

Really can't go wrong on any of the smaller routes in southeast KY - they're all pretty decent.
