Anybody have a pair of Sidi boots? I have been looking at a pair of TourmaSTer Solution boots and want to know about Sidi. Good and/or Bad. The reason I ask is because I am worried about ordering a pair of boots either online or from my STealer and them coming and not fitting right. My local STealer carries the Sidi boots instock where I could try them on and make sure they are the proper fit first. They are about $30 dollars more but worth paying to get the right size. I believe the one he had were Sidi Way style. Any feedback would be great! Thanks!

Sidi makes great boots, have had several pairs for track use, but fairly sport focused, not for walking, and $$$$
Sidi now has a somewhat hush hush, more real world, line of boots being
marketed under the name "Setup"
might be worth a look:D

My second-hand experience with Sidi boots is from my buddy Jon who had a run-in with a doe which came out of nowhere and ran into his Connie. Jon and his bike shared the impact (Connie in the radiator and lower cowl, Jon in the calf and ankle). The bike was injured worse than the rider, and though he was sore for a couple weeks Jon credits his Sidi boots for minimizing his injury.
Perhaps they lack the flexibility to make them good for walking, but if your concern is whether these "boots were made for walking" you're better off with Nancy Sinatra's style anyway.
Bottom line, $idi makes really nice boot$ for riding a motorcycle.

An overdose of MC boot info from Web Bike World:

Oh..and....I did not mean to imply that "good for walking" was also good for
protection, only added because the specific Sidi boots that I had, although
good for all day on the bike, made you walk like

Had a pair of Sidi 'Dry Roads' scuffed them at the track. They were great until that, but no longer dry. replaced them with similar Alpinestars, which close on the inside of leg. Can walk pretty well in those. If you find your appropiate metric size at dealer you could order with confidence online. Just buy a can of Plexus for the trouble of letting you do the fitting. -Martin

I have a pair of SIDI OnRoads. Like them very much, waterproof and comfortable on or off the bike. Only cons. are the price and it takes about two wks. to get them broken in.

+1 on the On Roads. Still water proof after 5+years. Size runs about right. I wear a 13 dress shoe and have the On Roads in size 48. I don't normally wear heavy socks.

My riding buddy bought a pair of the 'Set Ups' and swears by them. I know for a fact that the first ride was to the IMS show in Phoenix and he wore them and walked all over. He's got a ton of miles on them, now, and he still loves them.
I think I'm going to get a pair of the Tourmaster 'solution' boots. I'd buy the Sidi's, but I can't let him know I think he did good:) He rides an FJR, you see!

I quite like my Sidi On Roads. They offer good protection on the bike, are waterproof, and are not that bad hiking somewhere relatively close to get a better look at something. Newenough.com is the place to get them.

I have a pair of Sidi boots--not sure which model they are, but they have two velcro straps on each side plus a top velcro flap and a "Vibram" type of sole. They are very comfortable both on and off the bike. Supposed to be waterproof, I think, but I've never been in the rain with them on yet, so can't say anything about that aspect.
I also have a pair of Alpinestar Gore-tex boots that come up a bit higher and have both a side zipper and a velcro flap over the zipper and above. They are definitely waterproof, that I know from experience and they were on me when I crashed and totaled my first '06 ST last summer. However, while they are very comfortable both on and off the bike, I think the Sidis are more comfortable when walking and I pretty much wear the Sidis all the time.

+1 on the "On Roads". They are my first Sidi's. Mine are fine for walking in and have even had the soles replaced and the boots reconditioned. One of our HSTA members is a cobbler in Knoxville, TN. The new soles are better than the originals.

I concur with ALL the comments concerning the Dry Riders.. I am on my second pair.. They have never let me down.. The first pair were only replaced after an accident removed all the leather on the left front end.. I hate to think what my toes would have looked like if I had not been wearing them..
I find them to be very comfortable both on and off the bike.. And selecting a good pair of socks, such as ones that have moisture wicking will make things even better.

I wear the Sidi Sport Tepor (2006 model) with Vibram type sole and love them. The reason I went with these was because I wanted a boot that could be resoled and have traction if walking around on trails and they are waterproof. Here is what they look like:
http://www.buymoto.com/photos/sidisporttepor-2T.jpg
Prior to 2006 they had a molded sole and were not resoleable. With nearly a year on them the sole is not showing hardly any wear. They get my vote.

I have a pair of Sidi Champion, an older style. Looks similar to the Sport Tepor. All day comfort including walking, not too hot in Summer, waterproof. After 2 years they leaked. When I contacted Sidi they told me they should not leak and to send them back for a new replacement pair. Also told me that however I shipped they would return the same way. Sent 2 day delivery on Monday had my boots by Friday. They are going strong after 3 years.
I have tried on several different styles of Sidi's and noticed the fit in the same size is different between styles. Some were made in full sizes and some in half sizes. I needed 1/2 size larger for 1/2 size styles but the same size in full size styles.
Quote from article:
"But there's a secret. Apparently, Setup boots are made by Sidi, probably the best-known (and most respected) motorcycle boot manufacturer in the world. According to Motonation, the U.S. distributor for Sidi and Setup, Sidi decided to manufacture a "mid-level and economy" line of boots using the Setup brand. "With the Set Up brand consumers can now obtain a high quality Italian engineered line of motorcycle boots at prices that were, until now, only available when purchasing a less feature laden and quality product", according to Motonation"

I have some sidi's and the newest version of the model I think would be the 'escape':

They are very lightweight, very comfortable, and have worn very well. I really like them, but man they ain't cheap.

+1 on the Sidi On Road Sympatex. I have had them for 6 years. They wear well and are completely waterproof. The boots are pricey, but they are worth it in IMHO. Wearing them with Arrow socks, my legs feel comfortable in the cold and the heat. I don't even feel the heat from the engine. :p:

I've got to give a sorta thumbs down on the Sidis. I absolutely could not find a pair that would fit me, and I really wanted them. They use a European last which has a narrower forefoot than American lasts, so by the time I got a boot that would fit the front of my feet, it was 2 sizes too big for the rest of my feet.
I ended up going with Alpinestars, which I'm very happy with, aside from the fact that I can't sneak up on anybody wearing them. squeak, squeak...

I have a pair of Sidi boots. Don't remember the type but they have four velcro straps on each boot. I have put about 100,000 miles on them, well riding miles. Have had them re-soled twice and am ready for a new soles now. They are waterproof and have remained so through the new soles, you can walk in them and they are comfortable on or off the bike. I will buy a new pair in the coming year or so.
Neve had a bit of trouble until recently when the velcro started lifting off one of the straps. I guess they are at the of their life but they are great boots.

I still use my Sidi Cyclone off-road boots, from over 20 years ago.
I also have Sidi Champion's.
I like the Champion's, except that I think they should have better padding, on the outside of the boot. My reasoning is, because my off-road boots do, and it seems misplaced, after a fall on gravel wedged my foot between the foot peg and ground and did major damage.
Otherwise, an excellent boot.:04biker:

Worn many boots over the years and this will be year 4 with my Sidi On Roads.
Awsome all weather boot and comfy as steel toe slippers. A++
Now that I have 'em I feel they are worth the money even at full price but I snagged mine for $160.00 new in box off Ebay.

I just bought a pr. of Tourmaster Solution boots <$107.00@ Competition Accessories> based on reviews here. So far I'm very happy. Sidi "OnRoad" boots are more than twice the price in ads I've seen. Normally I wear 9 1/2, size 10 fit fine.

I have some Sidi Sport Tepor boots that I bought from New Enough and they are great. They feel more like a sneaker than a boot in weight and comfort yet have more protection than my uniform boots.

Make that a plus 2 on the Sidi On Road Sympatex and the Arrow socks. They are completely waterproof. I've worn them in downpours that lasted the better part of the day and my feet stayed completely dry. They're comfortable and the soles are replaceable (on my second set of soles)

I have 2 pairs of Sidi now and waiting on my 3rd to arrive. Goofed around with the Alpinestars, but even for the $$$ difference, for fit, function, comfort and looks....Sidi hands down.
What is the consensus on Sidi fit? Length run true? Better for narrow or wider feet?

If you need wide boots like myself, get the Waterproof Tempor Mega Ways. It's an extra $20 to get the Mega width at New Enough but worth it. I wear 9.5 and got these in 10 and wear thick socks...

On Road Sympatecs ! Still waterproof after 5 years. Tall enough to help keep the heat off my shins. Comfortable enough for walking around without feeling like Sasquatch. Pricey but worth the price.
