Stebel Compact Wiring

Hi,

Could someone tell which wires are wired to where on the relay. Tried a few combinations but the Stebel just clicks as does the original horn when I re-fit it. Any help would be welcome.

Lots of info on the site for this already, if you'll do a search in st1300 tech thread or the horns & mirrors section, you'll find all the info on the horn install that Dano7572 did a write up on, with schematics.

Basically, the relay (if it's the one supplied with the horn) gold contact is main power for the horn (from the battery), the opposite contact is the switched power out to the horn. The ground contact of the horn can either be run to the frame ground or to a battery ground. The other two contacts are for control of the relay. If you use the stock horn wiring for relay control then the dark green wire from the stock horn goes on the contact opposite of mounting tab for the relay. the contact that is on the same side as the mounting tab is for the light green stock horn wire.

Tony, one more thing to remember, the Stebel needs allot more current than the stock horn, so you have to run a good hot wire from the battery to the gold input of the relay, the stock wiring is too small to handle the load.
