Motorcycle accident in Anza-Borrego

I just heard on the evening news that there was a motorcycle accident in the Anza-Borrego Desert this afternoon. The details are sketchy, all they said was that two motorcycles had collided and that both riders were airlifted out, but that one had already died and there were no details on the other rider's condition.

I know some of my friends returning from DesertSTOC were considering that route and I have to admit I’m a bit concerned about everyone now. Please respond to this thread if you made it home ok.

In the mean time I'll pray that all my STOC family is ok.

I know that someone just lost their life and that there is a grieving family right now. I pray for our fallen fellow rider.

Terri and I tried to go up the SR22 from Borrego today (left camp one day early) and they had it blocked off "due to an accident". So that was what it was. My prayers! It was raining in the mountains above as we crossed up the SR2 as a detour. Hope all you guys made it home OK today. It was very windy coming into Borrego.

There was a MC related death there about a month ago too. Sure sorry to hear of this one, hope it wasn't one of us...

Dana,

Thanks for your concern in case you were thinking it was our group involved in the accident. Don, Joe and I opted to go over the hill on 74 to 371 from Palm Desert instead of going up from Borrego. I got in a little before 5:00PM and Don and Joe have probably arrived by now. Thankfully it wasn't anyone from our STOC family, but it's so tragic to hear about someone losing their life while riding.

RIP.

Rick
