Was truely hoping to meet up in Tucson but,,, being the Border Collie I am,,, and 7 friends stranded in town after their flight was canceled I had to kick it in and get them rooms,,, and hauled around town to motel and eat... Lost my chance of meeting up with the DesertSToc group... :(

Hey, Terry.
I know you are a border collie (the border isn't far away). Why didn't you put your friends up in the Lazy 8 Motel? You coulda been doing your duties and stopped in too. I know, I had several days to think of that solution:)
On the chance that Coop can see and not post, HiYa Coop! On the chance that Pooc has come back, ignore this post:)

Morning everyone!!!! I'm very much planning on heading down to this. Heck, I even got the wife to agree to riding pillion. My question is, can I bring my crazy VTX buddy? I know VTX's are loud, and kind of obnoxious... like the Harley's of the Honda world. But, most of the time, he's a really good guy. I'll even keep a leash on him if you want.
Thanks! I'm really looking forward to my moonburger, and meeting all of you soon!

If it's anything below 40 when we take off, it's going to be a hard sell. Same goes with any precipitation of any kind.

Ok Tim.... I'm thinkin' that most women are as frugal as they are dainty.... meaning that if you actually book that hotel, she may feel more compelled to 'not waste the money'..... also do not tell anyone that I suggested this, but since you guys live so close anyway, you could always drive down in the cage if it's a downpour, and if you wear your gear.... who would know???? :D

Ok, I'm a maybe on this. Plan I sprang on the wife last night after 2nd glass of wine at anniversary dinner - we're going to visit my folks in PA for Easter break, flying into Philadelphia with a visit to her cousin right outside of there. So, why don't I let her and the kids fly, I'll ride up and grab a car at my folks, and pick them up and drop them off at the airport. I get to spend a few extra days with my 85/76 year-old parents, then head over to Moonshine. It's about 2200 miles to get there that way, but I'm liking it, as far as plans go.

Can't sleep since I had a fever and slept about 24 of 36 hours so,,, I dug into some interesting facts...
Last year,,, we didn't go over the 300 people mark till March 20th...
This year we went over the 300 mark on Febuary 28th!!!
Last year we had 25 States signed up on March 20th...
We have had 26 States & Canada signed up since January 19TH!!! We have 29 States & Canada now,,, and almost assured,,, we will have,,, AT LEAST,,, 30 very soon!!!
When "The List" stopped signing up people a few days before the Moonshine Run last year we had 407 people,,, from 25 States,,, and 10 from Canada coming...
We this year have 333 people,,, from 29 States and Canada coming and STILL,,, have almost 40 days to go!!!

You an Ahnna are absolutely welcome in the back seat. If you want to hook up with us on your way down, we can work out the details. Riding or driving, the more the merrier.:biker:
Here is my theory. If the weather cooperates, I'm bringing the wife and having a grand old time. If it's just cold, I'll be there solo. If it's cold and raining, we're taking the Jeep.
I'm trying to get my parts ordered today or tomorrow to replace the damaged tupperwear from the end of last season. Tired of waiting on the insurance settlement, I'll just foot the bill and hope I get paid back. Regardless, I'll have some fresh tupperwear and my ST11 will be back whole again.
I can't wait to meet everyone!

Kind of a function of school vacation schedules and the like. Not sure if I can make the whole event, maybe just the tail end. I frequently ride 100 miles to get bacon and eggs, what's 1000 miles for a burger?
Only motorcycle people do this sort of thing. :bow1:
Steve - will do man, just hangin' waitin' to get my RC schedule from the mother ship...
If I do make it, I'll be looking for some route suggestions to head south east there towards the Dragons Tail, sans slab, of course
Terry, I connected with Bob, we have/had some very good friends in common, thanx again man :) Maybe another Adirondack event in the making too :D

If GRN and I can make this happen (and Steve??) some slab may have to happen en route, but it's all in the name of being able to tell your grandkids someday that you rode 1000 miles for a hamburger -- honest!
And yes, GRN and Steve and I know each other. I've put them both up at my house, fed them well, rode and rode and rode. We may even share some stories but only if you promise to tell eveyone you ever meet. (You remember that time that Kempo....)

Here is a little secret I use when traveling with friends...
First night out on the road,,, 3 people,,, 1 room,,, 2 beds... Announce,,, in an almost proud voice that you have a very strong urge to spoon just after you fall asleep...
97.4% chance,,, you are getting a bed to yourself... The other 2.6% of the time,,, you might need to rethink this 3 people,,, 1 room,,, 2 bed deal...
Uh... I didn't know that Il was that far west
It's like getting on a plane with one empty seat... and it's not next to you... till ya pull out the little bag dealie, announcing that you sure hope they have a bunch more, and proceed to fake holding back the hurle... hey look, the seat next to me is empty now, fixes me right up :D I'll have an orange juice, thanks!

Booked plane tickets for the rest of the family to PA, without me, today, so the plan is in place. Now, so long as Chris keeps the tornadic winds and storms to the west of my route, at least until I arrive, I'm good to go.

I keep looking at the Moonshine website and this thread and thinking "I really ought to go to this"!!!! It's supposed to be in the 60's and 70's all week here so how cold can it be a month from now?
So, assuming I sign up (and BTW, we will then have Colorado represented) and before I try for a room reservation, do we have a list or thread going of fellow STOC folks that are looking to split a room?

Sorry Steve,,, I was kidding,,, your map is "Technically" right...
What gets people in trouble is,,, they see the town of Hogue Town,,, see the store even,,, and think they need to go on farther south and turn... When you come to Hogue Town store,,, you turn just like your map shows... GPS,,, once again,,, has a town in the wrong spot in that area... :D

Morning all..
So, the plan for me and my group leaving from West Chicago is to leave at 6:30 Saturday morning and head to the Comfort Inn. If anyone is heading down from western Wisconsin and wants to hook up with us, email tkresler@gmail.com or hit this thread and we'll work out a plan.
If things go well, we'll be at the hotel by 10:30 and we can catch an escorted ride to the restaraunt. My question is, if things don't go well, where should I point my GPS at to find the restaraunt by myself? I guess with 400 odd people going, I can just listen for some stealth ST's and follow, but I'd feel better with an address or an intersection.
Any help is appreciated.

Your 1 map to Moonshine is PERFECT!!!
The other map at least for me,,, isn't showing the Cole's County Airport...
A far nontechnical way to find it is,,, Get on RT 16 and go 1/2 way between Mattoon and Charleston Illinois,,, which is also just off of I-57 and head east on the south side of RT 16 is the airport... Pull in and eat... :)

The canyons are nice, but you have to ride to the top of that mountain just south of Casey. I can't remember the name, but it's famous. Let me think.....anyone smell smoke? It think it's Kiltamyjaro......where people chug quart jars of homemake whiskey or maybe I'm wrong.

If you are going to the "Moonstoc" and wish to have a laminated name tag, the only way to do that is to sign up. That's how they are being made via the sign up list. If the group as STOC or ST-owners is not filled out, a tag can't be made. Only this site is having those made soooooo "membership has it advantage.

Bob MIGHT get mad at me but,,, I HAVE to tell you all what he has been/is doing/will do for everyone!!!
Bob contacted me,,, and said he was wanting to help and has done all this on his own... He has kept "The List" shipped off stuff to me to look at... Countless E-Mails about what to make,,, and spent some HUGE money in getting stuff printed/shipped/laminated!!!
Bob is a perfect example of how the Moonshine Run is such a great thing to be working on... You find out very often how GREAT people like Bob/Jody/Putt/Curt/Rebecca/Pons/Oneshot/Toypro/Murph/Trashman/Coop/Tom Bognar/Brad Esler to name just a few are... Some like Bob,,, have never met me,,, but are willing to offer to help,,, and go FAR above what is expected...
I told Bob in an e-mail I wrote just minutes before I saw his post... Bob will join a long list of people I will have a silent and thoughtful prayer and a tip of my Diet Dr Pepper for when the Moonshine Lunch Run is over...
Very cool people... Very Cool Indeed... :bow1:

You might give Helen one of the "OFFISHUL" tags or I can come up with something. Perhaps a sash with"ms moonshine 2007?" Don't know what type of humor she has. PM me with ideas. I have you, jody putt, etc. I don't remember pons, oneshot, murph and trashman. I may have done them, but you have the cards. I do have all these lined up by "earth names." you might shoot me an email on the earth names so I can confirm or make some up. I will laminate other than STOC if they play a part in the organization of the event
All you others that are coming to moonstoc:
Make sure I have gotten all you for the lamination, but remember, the only way I really know is from the list on the moonshine site. I went back and back-checked some, but the list is too long now. If you registered and didn't indicate STOC some how, some where, I don't know. I will be stopping this on the 4th of April. There will be other nametags but not personalized.
I want to hear no more of this adulation from you ACL!!!!!! (thanks) :D

this is a sample of the tags. No cost to you this year. All STOC members that have registered will get one upon arrival thru ACL or one of the other leaders. the other tags, generally, won't be laminated. Exceptions would be those involved in the "Run" specifically. I have about 70 tags made up so far for the STOC/VIP that are laminated and about 400 tags that are generic both STOC and "generic"

Just got an Email from a member whose wife was coming with him. He wondered about getting a tag for her.....it has been done. If you want one sent on to Casey for an SO or wife let me know. The templates are easy to add on to. Also if you have a riding buddy you want to have a laminated one, I can do that via the request of an ST member
let me know at

On the ST it's easy and I did it myself. There's a torque bolt you can pull out that is an inspection bolt and then you just make a fitting to do in there. Some people just "T" into the return fuel line. I'm not sure if you can do that or not. I'm sure there are plenty of RT owners out there that know how to do that though. You might want to check with Charlie.

I have a reservation for an extra room @ Marshall. this is a room not a share. My riding buddy is not coming as it turns out. It is for Friday and Sat. I will hold it for someone if they want it. I can turn it back to the Super 8 but they will not nec give it to a Moonshine STOC rider. PM me if interested. I will cancel the room Monday if no one takes it.

My buddy and I should be hitting 39 south from Rockford around 9:45 - 10:00 AM. Anyone from the great state of Wisconsin or thereabouts care to hook up , feel free.
I'll probably be coming down on Thursday afternoon. Hope to make it in time for dinner.

b-it's not to hot
c-it isn't raining
d- it doesn't get dark because the bugs come out and I might hit a deer
e-(well you get the idea)
Can't wait to meet you folks and see all the different bikes.

Ok all you Indianapolis-area riders... For those of us going over Saturday morning and just staying for the day Saturday, who wants to meet somewhere (west side?) in the morning and make it a big group ride?

The Good News???
639 people,,,
507 bikes,,,
115,790 miles 1 way,,,
231,580 round trip,,,
228 miles average for each bike registered,,,
215 eating at Richards farm,,,
88 eating at my house Thursday night,,,
T-Shirts are here!!!
Bad news???
We now have lost both the California riders as 1 had something work wise come up,,, and the other who is in the Military is being called back from leave for "War Games" duty... :(
It would have been cool to have California represented... But,,, we do have George # 104 coming in from Kingman who now takes over the "Un Official" leader board!!! :bow1:
NOTE!!!!
For those of you that will be arriving on G.W.'s, fear not,
there IS a DQ in Casey, within walking distance of the
Comfort Inn... And you thought you would have to rough it....

To truly cherish the 267 T-Shirts the 400 riders bought last year,,, you had to survive,,, Tornado's/Hail/High Winds/Thunderstorms/Cold COLD weather... This why the ones who had the T-Shirts last year CHERISHED them,,, they EARNED them... 8^)
This year so far no Tornado's/Hail are scheduled but,,, we still have a few days to go... 8^)
Hope you make it!!!
