Here is a couple of links to lodging in Crestline Village. The first one is a lodge called The North Shore Inn. It seems to be a very nice slightly upscale lodge located on the shores of Lake Gregory with rooms that have lake views. Prices I have seen on the their website range from $100 -$150 on up. Check their website for more information. The second one is called Sleep Hollow Cabins and Motel. From their website it looks more budget, but nice. With cabins and regular motel rooms available. Prices, depending on room or cabin, runs from $100 - $150 on up.

Here's the links:

THE NORTH SHORE INN (http://thenorthshoreinn.com/)

SLEEPY HOLLOW CABINS AND MOTEL (http://www.theplacetorelax.com/)

I suggest giving us a few days before you reserve rooms to find out if they would be willing to do a group discount. Or if they offer discounts at all like AAA, etc. Also if anybody has experience with these establishments please post and share.

Here's a local property management company that rents cabins:

Might be worth splitting. . . .

Great tip Raven! Thank you very much! This would be perfect for folks wishing to share the expense! I was a bit shocked at the prices the other places were offering. I rather stay in a real cabin, and one with a Fuss-ball table! Well, that's a no-brainer! LOL.

I want to thank you Raven for being the inspiration for this event, and I really hope you may be able to make it!

Well, thank you, I'm flattered!

Here's another cabin rental that sleeps 12-14. . . .$195/night

And a few more are here:

Or how about a few cabins or the group camp at Camp Seely?

Here is a quick link to a campground in Crestline. It is called Camp Switzerland. It is a privately owned campground. All the information I could quickly find on it says it is very nice. Lush garden atmosphere. Well kept. I couldn't find a direct website for it, so here is a Yahoo link about it...

CAMP SWITZERLAND (http://local.yahoo.com/details?id=20936251&stx=Car+Rental&csz=Crestline+CA&ed=gCsAyK160Sw38hGVOplF4hA6apRmOQZQXIfZ36EBk9nbOL_ NbhnYYO7VWyS7LSorunYtNsQ-)

We'll update more campground info as time goes on.

Camp Switzerland is literally at the base of my hill, I can see practically see it from the back deck from my cabin and can walk to it.

It is also right across the street from the lake as well as is with in walking distance to the area that we will probably hold one of the events.

Highly suggest it.

Hey - you can rent this whole place (60 cabins) for $1600 a night!

http://www.laparks.org/dos/camps/seely.htm

Even split among only 20 people that's $80 a night (cheaper than the local hotels). If you get as many as we ended up with at DesertSTOC (somewhere around 40 or so) it's only $40 per night. . . .

Bet you could get 160 folks to show at only $10 a night!

I just got off the phone with some friends that have a really large, 4 bedroom (with extra rooms) cabin that rents for $600.00 for the weekend. It sleeps 10.

If you are interested in splitting the cost for this with others coming to Crestoc, Please PM me. I am just going to split it evenly for everyone interested. If we get 10 people, that's $30 a night.

They are fellow bikers (Harley) that also might show up for the event.

I'll work on a more official roster over the next week.

Thanks,

<D>

OK, we seem to need to get all this available data assembled in some sort of order. Dates, lodging, etc. I talked to the wife last night and she seemed to be ok with the trip. A guarded, YAHOO!

I need to know firm dates, etc, as she, and I, have to make room in the schedule, who's gonna take care of feeding the dogs, stuff like that... Oh, and I can't forget about the kids. ;-)

May 4th -6th are the event dates.

I'll be working with Fred (finewest) over the next week to compile all of the Lodging and roster data into a usable format.

We (finewest, myself and a few others) have a scouting mission planned for the 10th (a week from this Saturday) to scope out the official ride maps. (Please PM me if you have suggestions for the area). After this meeting, we will post more info about the breakfast and dinner activities / schedules the following week.

Thanks,

<D>

My wife and I would be up for sharing a cabin Friday and Saturday as a first choice. It always so much more friendly sharing coffee and stories than everyone heading off to a individual motel room and watching TV.

At DesertSTOC, by the time we were done chatting with everyone and retired to our room, the wife and I were only interested in sleep. There were some real chatterboxes there. We had an excellent time meeting new people and chatting with old friends.

I am sure people of like minds will naturally gravitate towards each other.

I can't wait for this!

All I can think about is BBQ, Brews, Bikes and Buds!!! (and the fresh air of those mountains.... :)....)

Cheers!

Feeling bummed...it's looking like I'm going to have to work that weekend so I probably won't make it after all... :(

Keep your fingers crossed for the work weekend to change!

Still willing to help out as PM'd earlier, though! :D

So Dana, Will you be staying at my Cabin as originally planned? I have a bed saved for you at this point, so just say the word and it is yours.

I may have a couple couches open too (waiting to confirm) as the fact that if you choose to camp in the local area, my doors will be open to anyone that wants to use the shower in the cabin. :)

Thanks,

<D>

Dan, yep, it was my intention to take you up on your offer. For right now the wife and I will both be coming along. I believe we are planning on arriving Friday and heading back out early Sunday morning so I was planning on staying with you for two nights at your cabin.

I keep hoping that Fred will pop back in and plan on attending this event at least for one of the nights at the grill.

Cool. You two will get the room with the queen bed downstairs. Byron is also going to crash on one of the couches.

If Fred is going to come, he better chime in quick, because I have people that want the sleeping room.... :)

The two local Inns to stay at are:

North Shore Inn - Located directly across from Lake Gregory

http://www.mountaininfo.com/links/northshore.html

Sleepy Hollow Inns - Located down the street from The North Shore, as you enter Crestline.

Another link to different rental options. This page has some local area cabin rental agencies as well as info on local Inns.

The area that we will be basing out of is Crestline.

For Frame of reference:

Blue Jay is 15 Mins East
Arrowhead is 20 Mins East
Big Bear is 45 Mins East.

Crestline's Inns seem to be filling up fast. Summer is the busiest season for us. So if you think you will be making the trip over night, make a call now!

Thanks,

Sorry I can't make this more organized. I don't own the thread.. :(

Anyway, this is the Camp Ground at the base of my hill. I called tonight and they have a message. So they are still open. Just don't know what the rates or details are. I will call them tomorrow morning and try to get this info. Or you can call them and post a reply. :)

I can litterally see this camp ground from the back deck of my cabin. So if you need a shower, you can just head to my place and use the one down stairs.

Hey all -

Here's some more info on Lodging & Camping -

Camp Switzerland - tent sites $27/night
24558 Lake Drive, Crestline
909-338-2731

North Shore Inn (http://www.thenorthshoreinn.com/) - 3 rooms available from $100-135/night
24202 Lake Drive, Crestline
909-338-5230

Sleepy Hollow Cabins Motel (http://www.theplacetorelax.com/) - got a machine the couple of times I've called but never got a person so no idea on rates.
24033 Lake Drive, Crestline
909-338-2718

Those three are fairly close together.

The Crestline Inn is closed and the phone number (909-338-1545) now belongs to a private person so please don't call them.

I've called the Crest Lodge Cabins (23508 Lake Drive - 909-338-7766) several times trying to get rates but haven't had any luck getting anyone to answer the phone.

Thanks Raven!

At this point, if you want to camp, Camp Switzerland is literally a short walk to my cabin. Probably the best camp to use for our purposes. Another member on the board said he called Sleepy Hollow and the rates are about $100 night also. Waiting to confirm rooms.

There are also places in Arrowhead and Blue Jay, as well as quite a few cabins on one of the links that I posted. If you call the agency, you can usually split a cabin with others and get the rates down to 50-60 a night, ea. Depending on how many people are sharing the load.

Cheers!
