I'm creating a poll for a head count to help plan reservations for meals and such. The poll will be if you are arriving Friday or Saturday. Then soon after we'll start making restaurant reservations for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Also please post in this Head Count Poll Thread how many folks in your group. Such as wife and I, just me, or my whole Hell's Angels Chapter.
Thank you! :)

That's great guys!
Raven: I really hope you can make. Would love to meetcha!
glossblk06: Where do you and Kitty live?
I'll be heading up to Crestline on Friday. I haven't yet decided to blow out work for that day, or just head up after. I usually get off work around 1-2pm, but it would be nice to get there early to greet you guys showing up on Friday. As time goes on we'll be posting a more firm itinerary. I suspect that we'll be first meeting at Dan's (Dmulk) cabin, but I need to check with him on that.

Yup. No problem to meet at my place...unless there are just a ton of people... then we will probably meet down at the lake.... I'll show you when we head up.
BTW, I had to drive up last night after work: There is a 1/2 of snow on the ground.... the roads are clear though. :)
Cheers!

Fred,
We're located in West Hills 91307, in the west end of the San Fernando Valley.
I figure in the wee dark hours of Saturday I'd take slab 101-134-210-57-10 making my way east to the northbound 215 - eastbound 30 - Waterman Ave offramp to the 18 - etc. etc. Awaiting final details to the meeting place before choosing what's next.
George
At this exit, you are 15 mins from the destination. Your route looks right.
Cheers!

Since you moved it out to May 4-6 (from April), I'm a definite "May"be! :D
Sheesh, from work, I could be up there lickity split! (Since I work near the 10-215):biker:
I will still need two things:
#1 a kitchen pass (Most importunately)
#2 Finish up farkling my ST and get it back into one piece! :p:

The wife and I will be there Friday late afternoon. We'd like reservations for Friday and Saturday night wherever the group headquarters will be. I'd like to camp, but SWAMBO nixed that idea as it was for only two nights. Also, count us in for breakfast and dinner wherever the group decides.
One suggestion for a tour would be to go over to the North side of Big Bear Lake where the ranger station has a self-guided tour pamphlet of the old gold-fields. Some examples are a ghost town, a hanging tree where a branch were sawn off for every hanging, a place to pan for gold, a deserted gold mine, etc. More gold was taken out of the area north of the lake than was ever taken up north around Sutter's Mill. The main difference was that the gold up north was mostly nuggets while the Big Bear gold was placer deposits meaning gold dust mixed with sand by water. The last time I was up there, we came upon a couple panning. We stopped and, sure enough, he showed me a vial of 'color' that he'd gotten in just a half hour.
Part of the road was dirt, but my recollection is that it was hard pack and graded. I wouldn't hesitate to try it though someone might use it as an excuse to make a 'scouting' trip to check it out.

That's great guys! Hope to meet some of you soon!
I'll be working on the details over the next week and should be posting something soon (Rides, lodging, etc.)
JNSgardner: Sounds like a good ride suggestion.
Thanks,

PS: please remember to confirm attendance on the main ST-owners.com home page under "Crestoc". Just select Attend and add your notes there.
May also want to put weather you intend to camp, rent a cabin or hotel. Also, maybe if you are local and just coming up for the day.
Cheers!

* jnsgardner [03-08-2007 07:28 PM] + 1 guest - Sounds like a good way to get summer rolling. The wife and I will head up I 15 Friday afternoon, ride and tell lies all day Saturday, and head back Sunday afternoon. We'd like a room wherever the CreSTOC headquarters are for Fri. & Sat. nights. John
* Walrus [04-02-2007 01:48 PM] + 1 guest - Wife and I are coming. Just made Reservations. We will be up there Friday Night, but probably late.
RSVP'd Maybe: 3 (2 members and 1 guests)
* rickj [03-08-2007 02:44 PM] + 1 guest - I'm hoping to be able to make it with Marilyn. Most likely Saturday AM.
* tommyboy [03-12-2007 11:21 AM] - Hey guys, sorry, but I broke my ankle on March 8. I have surgery scheduled for Tuesday. It was stupid slip at the gym and I won't be able to throw my leg over a bike until just about the time of Crestoc. I will let you know as it gets closer
If no one else signs up, I may be getting off cheap in the BBQ department!.....common people! It's a local So Cal event, should be wonderful weather, and did I mention there will be FREE BBQ Burgers and Dogs? (Compliments of me!)
Let's get a few more people to commit to this thing!!
:)
Cheers,

PS: Tommyboy, if your leg is still hurting, you should still plan on driving up for Saturday's BBQ just to hang out. All are welcome.

Dan, 'fraid I won't make this one as our 10th anniversary is on May 2 and Deba's 45th is on May 11. That weekend will prolly be "Celebrate Deba" Days. ;^)
Enjoyed the pre-ride and plan to be up there again sometime this summer.

Sorry to hear that, but totally understand! I try to spend as much time as possible (as many weekends anyway) up there during spring and summer. There will be plenty of opportunities to come and hang. :)
On another note: Got that drywall and insulation we were talking about through PM going in this week. So, although the painting won't be finished by CreSTOC, the place should be nice and cozy and leak free by then.... :)
Ride Safe!
