Need to tie down the bike which has heated grips... any suggestions or what I should watch out for? Not sure if pulling on the grips will damage them.

I removed the tip over wings and tied on there. Plus the front wheel pulling forward and the rear side to side.
Something on the top we be good too I am sure.

The one time I trailered my bike (to the Smoky Mountains for a family vacation) I tied down using soft ties on the tipover wings and the rear subframe. No need to use the handlebars.
I read on another forum where someone's heated grips stopped working after his bike was transported using a Canyon Dancer. That's second-hand information but worth considering. Anyone here with heated grips use a Canyon Dancer without problems?

sorry to add more of the same basically, but for sure I think it's a bad idea to use the handlebars. If you just go and press down on them you'll see they have a rubber mounting as a part of them, to lessen vibration. Don't want to destroy that.
I've read where some have used the handle bars (clip ons really) with just light pressure, but the best place as mentioned, the tip over wings.

I have only towed mine twice.(both time was 500 miles) I used the tip over bar area as my main point to tie on. I also used a set of canyon dancers on the bars for back up. I did not tighten them near as much as I could have but hated not to have anything up high on the bike. For the rear I used a point by the passenger footpegs where honda designed the frame with a hole to run your strap through.
