BentAero, now that the server is back up and I can post this pdf, I'm calling you out on the facts.
Pre-server crash, you disputed my claim that the 06 and 07 FJR linked brakes where NOT dual-linked. You said I was wrong.
I stated that, unlike Honda's dual-linked system, the new FJR's brakes were linked rear to front only.
I say I'm right. The 06 FJR service manual seems to back up my claim.
Please prove me wrong. If you do, I'll say so.
A pdf extract from the FJR's service manual is attached.

Sorry it took so long to reply, just got back from riding the FJR to Key West and back. 2,048 miles. Had a blast.
Can't argue w/ what you pulled out of the service manual, but the unified brake system is described here on Yamaha's corporate website: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelfeatures/180/0/features.aspx
Scroll down to Chassis/Suspension, then the 4th paragraph. It reads: "Standard equipment Unified Braking System w/ABS: The front brake lever activates six of the eight front braking pistons and two rear pistons; the rear brake pedal activates two rear pistons and the other two front pistons—for balanced anti-lock braking in all conditions. "
Most importantly, when riding the FJR, you can feel it when the rear caliper begins to squeez the rotor when you pull the front brake lever firmly, because the pedal actually drops down ever so slightly under your foot.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Gary

As an impartial observer,
I would have to say the FJR owner is right, primae facea evidence being the Yamaha site.
Now, where is my Invisibility Cloak?:D

Update!
Well, Miles, after much deeper investigation, it appears that the US Yamaha site is incorrect. The similar Canadian site has the correct info, so in fact you are correct and I was/am wrong. My apologies to you and all.
http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/products.php?model=2139§ion=ft&group=M#contentTop
"Unified braking system with computer controlled ABS. When the front brake is applied, all 4 - LHS front caliper pistons are activated, while only the "upper" two pistons on the RHS front caliper are activated. When applying the rear brake, both rear caliper pistons are activated plus the two lower pistons on the front RHS caliper are activated."

I've been waiting for that thread to show up.
My research was much deeper. I've had a good under-the-cover look at the brake systems for the ST1300, and both generation FJR's. The 06/07 FJR design is still trying to catch up to the ST1300 in terms of performance and reliability in so many ways...
If they don't add stuff to the Connie prototype displayed at the shows, it won't even be in the same league.
I'm going to post some more comparisons between the two braking systems on this thread. To me, the differences substantiate my claim that the bikes are totally different and designed with very different criteria in mind.
Gary, since Yami lied to you, you can take the bike back. Ha, just teasing. Well, not really.
