My '07 does not have a tool kit. Are they supposed to come with one?
Thanks again for all the help with my questions guys. :bow1:

Nope.
Not needed for this bike.
Nothing ever goes wrong. :)
Research shows the total number of miles that toolkits are transported unused in late-model motorcycles exceeds the distance from the Earth to the Sun.
Go ahead. Put some tools in that little pouch if it makes you feel better.
CruzTools makes much better tools than Honda ever did anyway.

Good point! :)
I may just throw a multi arm allen wrench in there, along with something to pop out the plastic fasteners in case I need to look at something whilst on the road.

Your 07 should have an extensive tool kit consisting of one alen wrench and if you paid for the premium package - a small white piece of plastic foam or something resembling it

Oh. My. God.
I did notice that wrench. Wow, premium features! :)

Beleive it or not, I called my dealer and told them about the "missing" tool kit... and um... they just ordered me one and are dropping it in the mail.
...we'll see if it is the allen wrench thing or a full tool kit....I'll let you all know the outcome next week.
cheers!

The little pouch you get for the allen wrench and foam makes a nice envelope to put your registration, insurance card, and RAN list in.

I heard that if you pour a glass of water on that piece of foam, it turns into a life raft. In case you need to ride your ST across a creek or something..

I got so excited to learn that the piece of foam could be used as a life raft that I took it out to a local lake nearby and threw it into the water. It did'nt work as advertised .... but it did float. Must be used for something else .....

The only tools worth anything in the "full" OEM toolkit are the Allen wrench and the spark plug socket. And I never got any foam, so where will I be when I need an inflatable raft?

I picked up my '07 two weeks ago and discovered the "tool kit" when I got home. The dealer told me that the sponge was to shine the mufflers. The hex wrench was wrapped in the sponge.
My last three bikes were BMW's and they all came with a very nice assortment of tools; but no sponge. I think it is the stuff of pure genius to design a motorcycle that only requires one wrench. As for the sponge, I'm going to use it to put a spit shine on that crusty looking RT muffler. Soon, I will have a very shiny RT for sale. Imagine, no sponge! BMW has some nerve.
On a serious note, I am really liking my new ride!

Awesome Don!
Isn't it great?
Maybe some BMW-ness can remain in the form of the Beemer grips.
They really improve the ST's comfort. :)

Isn't there a flood watch in your area this weekend?

Well the Kiwi 07 came with the most tools I have ever seen on a bike..but no floatation device, hammer or sponge. I didn't even know it had tools till a couple of moments ago.
While searching for the inflatable raft I remembered that......
Must say 'thank's  to the person that posted the idea of forcing the seat down a notch at the back..completely changed that "pitching forward" feeling..don't think I need an aftermarket seat now.

Guess the "no tool kit" mentality is catching. Harley is only including one with the Ultra Classic.

Does the rest of the line come with a free pickup truck instead?

For a mere $40,000 you too can own a Ford/Harley Davidson PU to haul your MC on.

Yeah... I see they knew they had made one ST that was slow and prone to breaking down so they went all out to make up for it...

So that's where the foam goes... in those high quality ear protectors. The things you learn on this site. It's more than paid for my membership.
Since my 96 is sort of a Frankenstein, I have a few different sized nut heads and allen screws in the fairing.
I like to tinker, or maybe change the oil at a buddies place, so I carry a socket for each bolt or nut on the bike, a couple of different size allens, phillips, flat and a multi-tool. I can even pull a wheel off if I had to (think blowout/middle of nowhere, wheel in hand and thumbing a ride)
I also pack a few rags, bungees, zipties and elec. tape under the seat. Oh year, also a tire plugger and a CO2 inflator.
Only because I've needed all of those at least once!
