Valkyrie Rune

Has anyone any experience with the Rune? I saw one cruise by the other day thought now that is a cool ride. The sound was awesome compared to the ST. I crapped my pants when I saw the price on Honda's website.

It is an amazing machine, I had the regular Valk for 10 years. Had money on a Rune until I found out its strictly a one passenger machine. You can get an after market passenger saddle, but the gross weight limit would be violated. Plus you had to get passenger footpegs back rest etc. They didn't hold their value and have seen them on eBay going for under 20k. If you only ride solo it would be a blast.

Saw two at a dealer in the Greater Charlotte, NC area on Tuesday. They are both maroon but have some differences in trim level. He wants to sell one but you can choose which one you like. $18XXX.

With _WAY_ less than _$1800_ in my second 91 1100, I think anything less than _$18,000_ for a Rune is _Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay_ too much.

They do sound absolutely beautiful. There was a new one at Arizona Honda during DesertSToc they had marked down to $19,000. The last time I was at Competition Accessories, they had a new one they couldn't get rid of either. The guys I know thta have one say they are a blast to ride, but a $27,000 motorcycle with only one seat is a bit much.

A Rune is STill comparatively cheaper than a basic Harley. A guy I work with spent $15k on a girly-sized Harley and another $2 on louder pipes, chrome farkles, etc., I'd rather have a low-mileage Rune for the same price.

No real experience with the Rune, but FWIW the brother-in-law opted for the Boulevard M109 over the Rune. Price was a big sticking point. He's a long time 'Winger (now Triked)'
