I'm finalizing plans with a friend as we speak. I'm leaning towards Fox Ridge State Park for the scenery versus Lincoln State Park. What say you Terry? The KOA is too commercial for me and the wife says "He// no" to Casey because of the, to paraphrase Terry, many, many, MANY trains.

I can tell you about the trains in Casey, I camped there last year

It was 28 degrees a few weeks ago when we tented-it at Big Bend.
And they wouldn't let us have a fire either!
I like a fire when camping, hot or cold, but it was down-right un-American not to be allowed a fire.

So we did what any red-blooded, free-spirited, motorcycle-ridin' American would do...

:cf1:

We had one anyway!! Ok, Ok. It was a DuraFlame log in the charcoal pit, but it was FIRE!!!:)

I have a room reserved, but a big group coming, some plan on camping. I will probably bring my camping gear along as an option. We need to organize one or two designated camping spots for the group here.

To confuse you even more... :)

The Comfort Inn has a woods around 2 sides of it... There is a 30 ft - 50 ft grass barrier between the parking lot,,, and the woods... The woods set on the West and North side of the hotel... PERFECT to cut down on wind...

I really can't see why you couldn't camp there??? I mean,,, we have the place full on Friday night so,,, it isn't like we would be taking money from them...

Bad side??? No real place to have a fire really... No showers except,,, crashing into somebodies shower in a room...

Ok,,, I will shut up now...
