Hey there!
Ok, after much hand wringing, I have decided to buy an '03 Wing.
This is my compromise to myself, instead of financing a new one.
Would you guys reccomend an '03 with about 32K miles on it?
Any issues with this one that might have been sorted out on a later model?
Thanks for any advice....

A Wing with 32K on it is just barely broken in. My '06 has 39,962 on it and still has the original spark plugs in it. Maybe the garage will be warm enough for me to get out there and change them any day now.

As far as I know the only possible recall for an 03 would be to check the frame welds. I don't know how you can check if that's been done other than with a Honda dealer, but it's not something that should put you off buying it... if the frame welds have been checked and they're ok then that's good, if they weren't checked but haven't snapped yet... then it's highly unlikely they're going to. I know that sounds really serious but I don't believe there were many cases of the welds actually snapping. It certainly wouldn't put me off buying one.

Dave is absolutely right about the frame weld issue. By now everyone who had a Wing should have received a letter from Mother Honda asking the owner to take the bike in for a frame inspection. If there was a possibility that it would crack, the bike was stripped down and rewelded. The serial numbers of any bike inspected/welded were put into the computer. If there is an issue with this bike you're looking at, all one has to do is have a dealer plug the number in and check its maintenance history.

Ok!
It sounds good then. My plan is to fly up to the Bay Area, and ride the bike down to LA.
Should be fun!
Thanks again for the help guys.

Nah, I'll take the 101 down, and then go 134 out to the 210 into Glendora.
No parking lots for me. :)
